18.01.2022 How often should I wash my dog? HOW OFTEN SHOULD I WASH MY DOG? Today we are here to talk about one of the main questions we often get asked at Aussie Pooch Mobile Dog Wash. How often should I wash my dog?... As our Aussie Pooch Mobile solutions are especially made for the PH levels of dog’s skin we recommend 1-4 weekly washes for your best friend. If your pooch is an inside dog you may want to have them bathed every week so they smell wonderful all the time. Furthermore, if they are sleeping on your bed this also allows your blankets to stay clean and fresh for longer. Why are routine washes best practice? Washes allergens away- Before they get a chance to penetrate your dog’s skin and cause itching or irritation. Environmentally friendly- APM Solutions are used that don’t have harsh chemicals and don’t strip your dog’s hair of its natural oils. Great for their coats 1-4 weekly hydrobaths keep your pooch’s coat in tip top condition regardless of the length. Body check- Your local Aussie Pooch Mobile dog groomers are not vets but they might pick up on some worrying lumps or parasites that you may not have noticed yourself. The vet said so- Many vets recommend regular washes for your pooch. The smell- No one likes a smelly dog and our unique Aromacare rinses are made of pure essential oils and vitamin E to keep your pooch smelling beautiful for longer. What else can I do for my dog’s best well being? As dog parents we all want the best for our furry friends, not just with regular bathing but in all things. Here are a few things to take into consideration when looking out for your dog’s best well being. Being flea free, clean and comfortable. Having a warm, cozy place to sleep. Being fed a healthy, nutritious diet. Getting the right amount of mind stimulation and exercise for their breed. Having the love and attention that every furry friend deserves. 09.01.2022 Ooshie warning to pet owners The very popular kids collectable Ooshies could be a real danger to your pets. We are urging parents to put away any Ooshies that m...ay be lying around the house after one was ingested by a dog that then needed surgery recently. The Ooshie had become lodged in the dog’s intestines and caused a gastrointestinal obstruction. The patient recovered well but it could have been a very different ending if left longer. Please keep your ooshies out of reach from your pets especially if your pet likes to munch on objects around the house. Ooshies are not digestible so pose a very real danger if swallowed.

05.01.2022 Beware...Snakes are out Spring is here and many local dog owners are enjoying the great outdoors in the company of their dogs. Dog friendly hiking trails are a ...joyful place for you and your pooch to get some exercise and fresh air. Dogs and cats have no fear of snakes, and they are naturally curious about other living creatures. The highest incidence of snake bites occur between October and February, although we encourage pet owners to be vigilant from September right through to March. Below are some tips to try and keep your pets safe from snakes. - Regularly mow the lawn to keep it from getting too long - Keep log piles away from the house, or at least away from the dog’s bed - Clean up any rubbish (it makes for a good hiding place) - Keep a look out for shed snake skin - Keep dogs on a leash in bushland, particularly around the beaches or water ways. Signs of a snake bite; - Vomiting and salivation - Lethargy - Trembling - Collapse - Lack of muscle control - Increased, rapid breathing - Laboured breathing What to do if your pet has been bitten by a snake; - Keep the pet calm and quiet - Apply a pressure bandage to the site of the snake bite to help prevent the venom from spreading to the vital organs - Do not disinfect the wound - Do not use a tourniquet - Don’t try to catch the snake but identifying the type of snake can be useful for vets- only if safe. If you suspect that your pet has been bitten by a snake it is crucial that you get to a Vet immediately. Try to phone ahead so a team can be ready for your arrival.
