24.01.2022 *** ADOPTED SUNDAY 20 APRIL **** Compassionate forever home needed for this lovely old lady whose name is Lady. She was surrendered at the ripe old age of 16 ...and half years (her former owner said she was 6-7 years - but the real details are on her chip). Poor Lady has likely had a crap time, for some time. She is undernourished, has skin conditions, poor teeth, a heart murmur and has been left outside - has not lived with kids, cats or another dog, but has been described as okay around other dogs. And her toe-nails were so neglected they had curled back under on themselves She has not been for a walk in more than a month. So this is a terrible of example of the older dogs that come into our care. We have her on medication, her nails are trimmed, she comfortable, but very timid and nervous as could be expected. She needs a loving home to see out her remaining life with LOTS OF TLC, a gentle daily walk or ramble, good nutrition and a comfy, warm bed INSIDE. Ideally an active senior or someone who can monitor her care needs and respond as needed. Also someone or a home where people are going to be home regularly once COVID-19 is over. Lady would love to spend her time in the company of a hooman. It's very sad indeed, but Lady has one last shot for a very happy second chance. My name is Sparkles and I'm a four-year-old female American Bulldog X. I don't know why I'm here, but I hope I can find a new home very soon. I'll be honest with you, I don't know much about the outside world. I've lived a sheltered life and haven't really experienced much...but I hope this will change for me. I'm quite nervous when I first meet people. I'm just not sure if you're going to be gentle with me or hurt me :( I do come out of my shell if you go slow with me and let me come to you. Once I feel safe with you, I'll stick by your side. I'll cuddle up to you and frolic around with you...I just need someone to give me that chance. I used to live with another dog, but we got into a few scraps and now i've got scars all over me. I think it's best if I'm the only dog in the home - I don't like conflict and actively try to avoid it because I'm quite shy by nature. When it comes to other dogs, I prefer my own space. I've met a few boisterous dogs and they just made me feel on edge. I could live with teenagers but younger kids may be too much for me at this stage.
