24.01.2022 5 THINGS YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT ME! I thought I would introduce myself, the girl behind @aussietumblecoach and give you some fun facts about myself! My name is Erin, I am 25 and I live for tumbling drills and pretty skills. Here are 5 things you didn't know about me...... 1. I am a fully qualified Florist! I enjoy creating and did my floristry course after I finished school. I have never worked as a florist but I have done flowers for special occasions such as my best friends wedding which is where the photo was taken! 2. I am a loud and proud data enthusiast! My MacBook and Excel are my two best friends. I love all things research, data, statistics and more. If I can make a spreadsheet out of it, I am 100% there. 3. I am addicted to Disney Magic Kingdoms! I play this game on my iPhone and those of you who do know me know that this is high on my daily priority list! And yes, I do have a spreadsheet for this too. 4. Puzzles keep me calm! I use Puzzles as a wind down activity and to keep me calm when things are crazy. Often getting myself so caught up in a puzzle that I completely lose track of time. 5. I only got into coaching tumbling at 18 years old! I was not a tumbler as a child however, I am extremely passionate about tumbling and absolutely love teaching safe and pretty tumbling. I was only 18 when I realised how passionate I was about it and I have never looked back. I hope you have enjoyed getting to know the girl behind the drills! If you want to know more, DM me or comment below! Aussie Tumble Coach xx

23.01.2022 Tumbling at Home I have had lots of athletes reach out to me asking what drills they can be practicing at home that don’t require lots of space or equipment. It is easy to do lots of workouts and conditioning, however it is nice to be doing tumble specific things! This drill is great for opening your hips in your cartwheel and roundoff skills and therefore is suitable for athletes at all levels.... Opening your hips before pushing into the cartwheel encourages your legs to go over your body rather than around. It is important to keep your hips open and glutes squeezed before going into the cartwheel. You can use a chair or the end of your couch instead of the box at home! Looking for feedback or tips on your drills and skills? DM me

21.01.2022 Hands up if you’re enjoying the sunshine!! Are you using the time over the holidays to work on your tumbling? I have some tips for you! be sure to activate your muscles, particularly your core muscles! There are great core workouts that you can do before tumbling always work through your basic shapes and tumbles first. Body shapes are not just for beginner tumblers but the key to success in higher level tumbling... STRETCH AFTER! Whatever you strengthen, you should lengthen! Stretching after doing a workout or tumbling is the best time to maximise your flexibility potential! Feel free to send through videos or photos of your skills for more tips and drills to work your technique! Happy Tumbling Featured athlete: @fleurr.smithh See more

21.01.2022 Hey! Welcome to Tiny Tip Tuesday #1. This is the first of my series of Tuesday tips for coaches of Tiny Teams. I pride myself on making athletes tiny time enjoyable and using this time to build a bond to support our skill building for years you’re only little for so long, there is plenty of time to get to high level skills and 1st place trophies, so let’s prioritise having FUN! Most of these tips are for your typical tiny teams, not those teams full of top aged athletes who ...seem to be way beyond their age, so let’s hope they can help you all! Boredom is reached before perfection. With the attention span of a tiny, it’s hard to keep them engaged with perfecting a skill as they get bored of practicing is before the perfection is achieved. You have to be innovative as a coach with ways to change the skill up to make it seem different or interesting Here is some ways I do this with just a forward roll Developing a tuck sit Developing a motorbike shape Teaching to squat and stand Teaching forward rolls to tuck sit Forward rolls off a panel mat Forward rolls down a wedge to standing Forward rolls on the floor to standing Forward rolls with a bean bag in knees, feet or between arms and ears Practice just the landing Practice just the landing with a hoop Forward roll up a wedge Linking forward rolls Forward roll competitions Forward roll timing practice Stick it challenge

20.01.2022 HAPPY INTERNATIONAL DOG DAY! Meet my best pal, NALA! @nalagram Nala is still working on her tumbling skills, rolling over is her best trick at the moment! We are slowly putting together her floor routine ... My athletes know how much I love dogs & will often bring their pups into our privates and tumble classes! I would love to see your pups! Post to your story & tag me! #internationaldogday #dogsofinstagram #dogstagram #dogsofinsta #dogslife #husky #huskylovers #huskylife #tumblingcoach #tumblingclass #tumblingdrills #tumblingvideos #aussietumbling #aussietumblecoach #tumblingtutorial #tumbling #tumblingtuesday #athlete #athletemotivation #geelong #geelongkids

19.01.2022 STRENGTH Check out this mini doing everything she can to work her technique as she gains skills! As many of you know, I am passionate about safety & technique. It fills my soul when I have young athletes like Miss Harper here who want to get the small stuff right.... Working this technique at a young age or even just at the beginning of an athletes tumbling life makes room for longevity in their career. So often, those who are focused on just gaining skill after skill do not reach the outcomes they are hoping for. Sweat the small stuff, it’s worth it! This drill is great for working speed and strength of arms in a back handspring or a set for a tuck what you can’t see in the video is Harper lower her arms & then snapping them to her ears quickly which is what we had been practicing prior to this video

18.01.2022 Tiny athletes are capable of learning the terminology. Sure, you might not have them memorise the IASF glossary, but it’s more than achievable for them to know the skills as they are learning them. Whilst we might be more patient with Tiny athletes, they don’t need to be treated any less in many respects than older athletes in their level. By the age of 4 I would encourage athletes to know the names of all their body shapes and any skills they are performing. For example: we ...start off with teaching the term ‘single legs’ and as they get older, they start learning to differentiate waist, prep or extended. Here are some terms you might teach; Routine components Body shapes Skills Conditioning exercises ‘Hit 0’ Full out Names of equipment #tumblingcoach #tumblingclass #tumblingdrills #tumblingvideos #aussietumbling #aussietumblecoach #tumblingtutorial #tumbling #tumblingtuesday #athlete #athletemotivation #geelong #geelongkids

18.01.2022 IM BACK! Teaching my all time favourite skill! Miss April showed us tonight that 11 weeks out of the gym means nothing but improvement for her! She has worked so hard during home training and it has paid off. The idea of an open tuck was hard for April coming from tumbling experience of grabbing the knees but she has overcome her fear and they are starting to look beautiful

16.01.2022 PRIVATES IN THE PARK I am lucky enough to be able to run one-on-one sessions in outdoor spaces where I live under our lockdown laws. With the weather getting better, it is so lovely to spend time outside doing what I love! ... This drill is among many basic drills that use limited resources but can have such a positive impact on an athletes shape & tumbling. Lola is working on her back handspring, we used this drill to train speed & body shape! I am looking forward to running more privates in the park in the beautiful sunshine!

16.01.2022 Today’s Tiny Tip Tuesday is some of my favourite forward roll drills as requested I have over 20 drills I use for forward rolls! Follow me if you want to see more

15.01.2022 With Victoria going into a new stage of restrictions it’s important to have hope and things to look forward to. At this stage with so many unknowns, it’s a good idea to consider and create events that are certain and use these to help get through the tough times... for example, counting down until the end of stage 3 or 4 restrictions, might increase anxiety and thoughts on whether or not the lockdown will be extended, but Spring is definitely on it’s way! Spring is healthy, i...t’s covid friendly and it’s something to look forward to for many. For younger ones, 29 days might be too far away to grasp... so we can instead create countdowns and exciting moments for them to look forward to, like taco Tuesday or a Friday Family night! Swipe across to see some of the things I’m looking forward to, some ideas for families and be sure to let me know below what you are counting down until! Thanks to my Sissy @teachwithmeinprepg for the photography!

09.01.2022 TUMBLE IN THE SUNSHINE I always LOVE working with @aussietumblecoach ambassador @niamh_sport.01 Niamh is so great to work with because she is prepared to work on the technique of her foundational skills even though she is working higher level tumbling. This makes her such a coachable athlete.... Checkout the beautiful rebound on the end of this skill, creating space for other skills to follow like tucks, layouts etc. My tip for you: always work on your foundational skills, your basics, your level one skills. Every training, every day. They set you up for the rest of your tumbling life!

07.01.2022 M I N D S E T - M O N D A Y ‘You do you, EVERY day’ To keep a healthy mindset we should all be doing something for ourselves everyday! I like to read crime books and do puzzles in my me time. But yoga, meditation, baking and time in nature are all common ways people enjoy putting themselves first, even if only for 15 minutes a day! ... 07.01.2022 M I N D S E T M O N D A Y Mindset Monday is back & this week I am encouraging you to write down the positive things you’re doing to be a great athlete! Achieving your goals as an athlete can be challenging at times so it is important to remind yourself of the positive things you are doing to get there. Each day write down 3 things that you have done to be a great athlete. Look back on it when you’re looking for motivation & revisit these things regularly. We are in a... time of uncertainty & we are lacking the routine that we are used to. 2020 is not over yet, so turn it around and dream big! #aussietumblecoach #tumbling #cheerleading #mindset #mindsetiseverything #mindsetmatters #mindsetmonday #athletes #youthathletes See more

06.01.2022 R U OK? @ruokday is such a great day of awareness for mental health and suicide prevention Those of you that know me know that I am passionate about mental health and in particular the health of our youth athletes and people. ... R U OK? Is a great conversation starter however it is the conversation following that question that will be the most impactful on someones life. It is also OK to say NO. It is ok to share how you are feeling with others. I always recommend for the 5 person strategy, name a person for each finger & your thumb that you trust and feel comfortable talking to and don't be afraid to reach out to them to let them know you are not ok. R U OK? DAY provides us with a reminder to check in on our people but we do need to remember to do this all the time not just on this fabulous day of awareness. If you need someone to talk to or would like help talking to someone, don't hesitate to reach out in my DMs. #RUOKDAY #ruok #mentalhealth #youthmentalhealth #youthsport #tumblingcoach #tumblingclass #tumblingdrills #tumblingvideos #aussietumbling #aussietumblecoach #tumblingtutorial #tumbling #tumblingtuesday #athlete #athletemotivation #geelong #geelongkids

03.01.2022 M I N D S E T M O N D A Y It is so important to recognise the hard work that goes into the success of others. The iceberg illusion is such a great visual to remind yourself and others of what goes on "under the water". Those that demonstrate success and achievement have also experienced setbacks, sacrifice and made compromises. They have had to be diligent, hard working and resilient to get to where they are today.... During a year like 2020, it is hard to remain focused on the things at the bottom of the iceberg and look forward to the things at the top. It is a great time however, to continue to set goals and work hard 'behind the scenes' before striving for that achievement in 2021. Save this post to come back to when you need a reminder of what you have been through to achieve your success!

03.01.2022 Thinking of all of the Melbourne gyms affected by today’s news. It is a difficult time for so many wonderful people in our tumbling community and it is important to look out for each other and stick together. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help! A level two tumble video from earlier in the year. I love working on Level two technique. Back handsprings are such a key skill for higher level tumbling and therefore it is imperative you spend time on having solid and consistent technique!

03.01.2022 Well hey there It has been a HOT minute since I have been able to post. I finally got back into the gym with the kids this week and I couldn’t be happier! Peep this video of level 3 skills from earlier in the year. I am looking forward to getting back to tumbling classes and privates and working tumble technique! What are you excited for !?

01.01.2022 Nothing like a pretty back walkover! What is your favourite skill to watch??

01.01.2022 Well... us Victorians didn’t get the news we were hoping for today but it is important to keep a positive mindset & stay safe! I’ve got a little positive to share with you today that could easily be adapted at home! Starting your backhand spring with your toes raised reminds you to sit back rather than lean forward when you begin your handspring. Is your back handspring too high? This is the perfect drill for you! Find something with a little bit of height on it & pop your to...es up and then back handspring from there. Stay tuned for more tips & tricks for keeping your tumbling technique moving whilst you’re at home
