25.01.2022 Sending our love to Lebanon. Consular phone # 1300 555 135Sending our love to Lebanon. Consular phone # 1300 555 135

25.01.2022 A bit of positive news I love the description of a "trans-Tasman bubble" being created between PM Morrison and PM Jacinda Arden. There is no indication yet when Australia will open her International Borders however, the good news is that it is at least being discussed with Australia and New Zealand being the first to opening travel between our two countries.

24.01.2022 It would appear that there will very little travel to Australia before 2021. I believe all Australians understand & respect the likely risks of opening our International Borders. However, I don’t think it’s all bad news though. My view is that because Australia is negotiating a pilot of Overseas students to study in the ACT then in the future it MAY also consider immediate families to enter Australia, with strict self isolation requirements on their arrival. ... I have no information or evidence to back up my views but my rationale is that I’m not sure how long the Aussie government can continue to justify keeping Australian Citizens apart from their immediate families & loved ones. Watch this space - it may take a few months & require some isolation restrictions but it is manageable. What do you think?

22.01.2022 Today I am assisting a person who is now an Aussie Citizen with a Visa issue, and when checking her old subclass 820 Partner visa which we lodged on her behalf on 20th April 2010, I noticed that it was approved on 23rd April, 2010. Three days to visa grant . How awesome is that ? ... Ten years later things are a little different. Applicants now pay more than $7,000 & Sometimes wait Two years to have their visas finalised. Having worked for Dept of Immigration for more than 19 years, plus been a registered Migration Agent since 2007 (30 plus years) I understand the reasons behind the processing delays but I also see the real stress & pain (emotional & financial) our Clients experience whilst their lives are on hold. Sadly, COVID19 has put even more pressure on both Aussie sponsors & applicants. At the moment, in our other capacity as Therapists, with Infinite Minds, Simon & I are putting together an Online Workshop intended to support & assist people going though the Visa Process. Watch this space & if you feel that you or someone you know, would benefit from this type of support then please share this post with them so that we can help them move from Stress & Overwhelm to Regaining Control & Relief. Thank you, Julie & Simon

22.01.2022 Our Australian residents need to be given a solution to this visa craziness. The couple have paid the visa fees, their relationship has been assessed, the visa granted and are now not able to enter Australia. What price do you place on relationships? ... The Social isolation of visa holders on their arrival in Australia could easily resolve this problem, yet the Aussie government are yet to show compassion & flexibility with most people in this stressful & overwhelming situation.

22.01.2022 Bridging Visa E t's 11 pm at night and I have just lodged a Bridging Visa E application for someone who is unlawful. This particular Client hasn't been able to fly home because the Airlines have cancelled their flights twice because of the CORONA Virus. ... Just a reminder - If you can't fly home because your return flight has been cancelled due to COVID-19 and IF your Onshore Visa is about to expire you MUST apply for another visa before your visa expires. If your visa expires and you have not lodged another visa application then you will become UNLAWFUL. Yes a NEW visa application is required ie new Immigration fees & new documentation. No other option! The visa application is FIRST and then the Bridging Visa is associated with the application ie a Bridging Visa A. There seems to be some confusion and some people seem to believe that you can just apply for a Bridging Visa - that's incorrect. There are exceptions, (ie Bridging Visa B) but t's usually only when you are unlawful that you would directly apply for a Bridging Visa and you need to show evidence that you intend to depart Australia asap. I understand there are faces, people & lives behind every visa situation but if you do nothing, (which some people seem to think they can do) you will become unlawful and then that requires a Bridging Visa E to temporarily rectify your situation until the Airlines return to normal. If that ever happens :) Yes, it's a bit confusing but that's when you reach out for a Registered Migration Agent.

22.01.2022 "Australians love who they love, and it has always been part of modern Australia that people fall in love, marry people from overseas and build a life here," Mr Hill, Labor MP said. "Yet right now, as we debate this motion, the lives of nearly 100,000 Australians are in limbo, desperately waiting for years for this miserable government to grant their partner visas. "Australian couples are suffering, separated for years and hearts pining. Relationships are now stressed or broken as waiting times continue to increase."

21.01.2022 So today I'm heading to the Philippines, USA, Thailand and if I have time chase up Ukraine and back to Afghanistan. Then at 2.30 pm I'm going to Tassie for a Zoom Call. Where is your work taking you today?

20.01.2022 So today I'm heading to the USA, Philippines, Thailand and if there is time back to Afghanistan. After that I'm going to Tassie for a Zoom Call. Where is your work taking you today?

20.01.2022 So today my Visa Work has taken me to Ukraine, Zambia, Eritrea and now South Africa. Yesterday I visited the Philippines, Hong Kong and Thailand. We may not be able to travel overseas ATM but we are still able to use technology to keep in touch. Remember to check in with your family & friends back home even if it's just to say hello.

20.01.2022 I feel so privileged to phone a client today to inform her that after 3 years waiting, she is now an Australian permanent resident.I feel so privileged to phone a client today to inform her that after 3 years waiting, she is now an Australian permanent resident.

17.01.2022 It’s been a long time coming but WA State Borders from the 14th November, 2020.

16.01.2022 The ongoing travel bans resulting from COVID-19, is having a significant impact on Australian migration. Latest information from the Federal Government expects the net migration to fall to just 36,000 in the 2020 to 2021 financial years. This is apparently the lower number in 40 years. Ms. Liz Allen from the ANU, anticipates that this will have significant implication for the Australian economy.

16.01.2022 It is important for any temporary visa holders to check their Entitlements with Centrelink. New Zealanders on 444 visas and who arrived in Australia before 26 February 2001 would have access to welfare payments and the JobKeeper payment. Those 444 visa holders who arrived after 2001 had access to the JobKeeper payment. ... Those who have lived in Australia for 10 years or more have access to JobSeeker payments for six months.

15.01.2022 It looks as though West Australia will be moving into the second step from Monday the 18th, May. Simon and I work from home, so going into work hasn't been an issue for us, though Zoom has become our latest best friend. We miss seeing our Visa and Hypnotherapy Clients face to face, but will probably wait for another week or so. ... Our grandchildren have returned to school and both our son & son-in-law are back to full time employment. Who is ready to return to full time work? What's going on in your household?

15.01.2022 RED CROSS are to provide some assistance for temporary visa holders. They are advising people to contact them via email. Once you have requested help, we will speak to you and see if we can assist with emergency payments, food deliveries, crisis accommodation costs or other support. ... To protect everyone’s safety during COVID-19, please do not come to our Red Cross offices at this time. You can email us or call 1800 733 276 during business hours.

12.01.2022 The Refugee Council of Australia believe that about 4,000 refugees with Humanitarian visas have been unable to enter Australia due to the Covid-19 restrictions. With Australia's international borders closed due to the pandemic, Australian citizens, permanent residents and immediate family remain the only people allowed to enter the country, resulting in the country's refugee intake coming to a halt since March.

12.01.2022 I am Australian - Let’s all stay connected. Have an awesome week.

11.01.2022 We are living in very uncertain times - it will be very interesting to see how the Politics of the Migration debate play out against the Australia's Economic situation post COVID19. Australia will need to acknowledge that a significant number of our ""essential services" workers such a Doctors, Nurses, Aged Care Services are migrants. This will require sensitive management when Australia's unemployment rate is expected to rise to an average of 7.6% in 2020 and 8.9% in 2021. During times of high unemployment, our Unions rightly so, do not like jobs to be filled by migrants, however some of these positions take a number of years study & training and many Aussies have in the past not been keen in work industry sectors such as Aged Care. Watch this space ...

11.01.2022 This is an important service so please share the details about this workshop. Thank you.

10.01.2022 Apparently, there are currently 2.17 million people in Australia on temporary visas. Of which 672,000 people hold the the New Zealand-specific 444 visa. It's important for New Zealand passport holders to check that may have been laid off to check their entitlements with Centrelink.

09.01.2022 New controlled interstate border, effective 14 November - Pending ongoing health advice, from 12:01am on Saturday, 14 November, Western Australia’s new controlled interstate border will come into effect. Under this system, travel from ‘very low risk’ states and territories will be permitted, with conditions on arrival including declarations, health screening and possible COVID-19 testing. ... These jurisdictions currently include Tasmania, Queensland, South Australia, Australian Capital Territory and Northern Territory because they have had no community cases for more than 28 days. Travel from ‘low risk’ states and territories also permitted, with similar conditions on arrival, in addition to 14 days of self-quarantine and a mandatory Day 11 COVID-19 test. These jurisdictions currently include New South Wales and Victoria because they have less than five community cases per day on a 14-day rolling average. Failure to follow these directions or providing false information will be enforceable by law, with penalties ranging from $1,000 infringements, to up to $50,000 fines for individuals. More information on WA’s controlled interstate border can be found at www.wa.gov.au/covid19

09.01.2022 The stress of the processing delays for Overseas Partners is ripping couples apart. Julian Hill MP, raises some very relevant issues about Offshore Partner Visas. As long as your relationship survives the two years or more separation, the one GOOD thing about the Offshore Partner processing delays is that two years from the date of your application (assuming you meet the Partner visa criteria) you will be granted a Permanent Partner Visa.

09.01.2022 It's only 11.30 am on a Wednesday and my Visa work has already taken me to Ukraine, Philippines, Thailand and now I'm in Herat, Afganistan. I'm looking forward to when my clients will be reunited again with their loved ones. I love my Aussie Partner Visa Work and being of service.

09.01.2022 A few facts ..... I am white. My husband is black. Our son, and daughter are black.... Our son-in-law is black. Our grandchildren are black. I haven't experienced racism because I'm white. There have been 432 Indigenous Australian deaths in custody since 1991. Racism both covert and overt, is real in Australia. The below article informs that Asian Australians have reported increase in racism during the COVID-19 and the Australian Human Rights Commission apparently reported more complaints under the Racial Discrimination Act in February, than any time over the previous 12 months. Racism is NOT OK!

09.01.2022 People from culturally and ethnically diverse (CALD) backgrounds lack support during the coronavirus crisis, according to a recent submission from Australian Muslim Women's Association to a recent Senate enquiry. They also note that governments need to support more community-led prevention and early intervention programs for men from CALD backgrounds. If you know someone whose first language isn't English who may be experiencing or at risk of perpetrating family violence, let them know about 1800RESPECT's confidential language services: https://www.1800respect.org.au/languages

08.01.2022 This would be one way of improving the processing delays with the Australian Offshore Partner caseload. At the moment the processing times are between 13 to 17 months, though this varies from Post to Post. The ongoing separation between genuine applicants and sponsors often puts significant strain on their relationship, both emotionally and financially. These applications are reassessed prior to the grant of their permanent Aussie visa (assessed & granted Onshore) so... the potential risk may be worthwhile. My Partner visa applicants and sponsors would certainly support this possible strategy. What do you think?

08.01.2022 It doesn't look as though Australia will not be opening our Borders until later this year. We all understand the WHY but on a personal level this has a huge emotional & financial stress on sponsors and applicants waiting patiently offshore for their visas to be finalised.

07.01.2022 Our Aussie Visa Solution clients may not know that my husband, Simon and I are also Clinical Hypnotherapists. I have a background in Psychology and Social work and started work with Immigration Department in 1987 as a Social Worker. If you are interested in finding out more about the power of your mind, please check out our Facebook page, where you will find lots of interesting information. ... Hope you have an awesome weekend. 07.01.2022 How awesome is this ... we just received a call from an Aussie citizen working in PNG, asking about renewing a Retirement visa, for his 89 year old Mum who lives in Quinn’s Rock, WA. With the COVID-19 restrictions he doesn’t want to risk coming back to Australia & is struggling with the Immigration website. We had a little reminiscent chat about PNG, because in the early 2000s, I worked on Manus Island & loved the lush, jungle beauty of the country. ... Maybe it’s the retired Public Servant in me but with a bit of my guidance, he is now happy to tackle the Immigration website again & will get back to me if he can’t resolve it. Integrity is always the best way & we may have lost this particular contract but in the future this man will refer his friends to us. If he can’t resolve it, then he’ll get back to us & we will be helping his Mum resolve her visa issue. Either way his Mum will get her visa sorted.

06.01.2022 We acknowledge the Nyoongar Whadjuk people, the traditional custodians of this land and wish to acknowledge the strength of their continuing connection to the land, waters & community. We offer our respects to all members of the Aboriginal communities and their cultures and to Elders both past and present. NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.... Here is some fascinating information about symbols used in some Aboriginal Art.

04.01.2022 It is not just our International Borders impacting on people's lives, it's also the State Borders. It's time to use compassion in some circumstances! Surely the children would go into isolation if it meant they could see their father.

03.01.2022 "Who get's to stay in Australia?" A new four week documentary on SBS Wednesday nights. Every three minutes someone is granted permanent residency in Australia. But every year more than 40,000 people are rejected. ... Let's remember that there are very real people, just like you and I experiencing the Visa journey.

02.01.2022 A very serious side effect of the COVID19 virus. CEO of South East Community Links Rhonda Cumberland told SBS News she is concerned women wanting to leave their abusive partners are now at more risk as Australia tackles the coronavirus crisis by imposing lockdown measures. And for those who have migrated to Australia from a different country, they may be without a wide network of support. ... Please reach out to people you believe may be at risk of domestic violence.

02.01.2022 The 1800RESPECT line is also available to temporary visa holders.

01.01.2022 The Australian Government's economic lifeline is expected to help in our recovery phase, but according to the IMF, Australia is expected to suffer it's biggest economic blow since the Great Depress of the 1930''s with high unemployment rate, expected to remain high for at least two years past the Corona virus pandemic. The International Monetary Fund expects the Australian economy to shrink by 6.7 per cent this year, more than double the global rate. Unemployment is tipped... to rise to an average of 7.6 per cent in 2020 and 8.9 per cent in 2021. "On the economic front for Australia this will be the first recession in almost 30 years. It’s a fairly steep decline," Mr Finger said. https://www.sbs.com.au//imf-predicts-australia-s-coronavir
