25.01.2022 Getting excited about the Aussie Peace walk next March

19.01.2022 Don't forget that registrations are now open for the 2021 Aussie Peace Walk on 27-28 March. Early bird entries close on 12th January. You can join the AussieWalk team by registering through the following link: https://www.registernow.com.au/secure/Register.aspx

18.01.2022 A wonderful turnout today for the official launch of the 2021 Aussie Peace Walk (formally Canberra Two Day Walk/Canberra Walking Festival). Held at the Rotary Peace Bell in Lennox Gardens, with many Rotarians, Walking for Pleasure walkers, AussieWalkers and past Canberra Walking Festival participants and volunteers in attendance - including visitors from Bendigo and Gosford. We raised just over $112 for Rotary's Give Every Child a Future charity from the gold coin donations.... After the official ceremony everyone had the opportunity to ring the bell and make a statement in support of peace - from the words of Chinese Philosopher Lao Te Tse If there is to be peace in the world, There must be peace in the nations. If there is to be peace in the nations, There must be peace in the cities. If there is to be peace in the cities, There must be peace between neighbours. If there is to be peace between neighbours, There must be peace in the home. If there is to be peace in the home, There must be peace in the heart. After the bell ringing 37 of the attendees competed the St Nicholas Walk, which started around the lake then into Stirling Park and the Embassies of Yarralumla, with a stop opposite the Dutch Embassy to hear about the life and times of St Nicholas. Our morning concluded with morning tea back at Lennox Gardens, courtesy of AussieWalk and Supabarn.

10.01.2022 Very late post for these photos taken on our walk in Queanbeyan last month. 19 walkers enjoyed a walk into new territory, including up and over the new extension link road to return on the other side of the river. A big thank you to John and Thea for leading us - and welcome to some of the Queanbeyan Heart Foundation walking group who came along too.

08.01.2022 Another late post for our last walk on a super hot day. We had planned to complete a 12km look walk but ended up cutting the walk down to an 8km out and back along the Centenary Trail. Everyone was pleased to finish a little early due to the trying conditions - and it's not even summer yet. Thanks Jill for leading this walk. Our summer walks will start earlier at 8:30am.
