To kick it off the SASHF will be running a fourth Mega Raffle in ord...er to raise funds for the collection of SASR Military Art. The SASR's Art Collection is one of the largest collections outside the Australian War Memorial. The collection comprises artworks by renowned Australian military artists, which capture the Regiment's remarkable history. The funds raised from this raffle will be utilised to construct a purpose designed art gallery to house, care for and display for public viewing these national treasures. There are some great prizes on offer and we would really appreciate your support. All will be released on 28 Jan 20. Wait out....... Who Dares Wins

10.01.2022 With the cancellation of ANZAC Day Memorial services this year you may have seen on the news and social media, RSL’s and other support networks are encouraging us all to still recognise this special day, by conducting your own dawn services in your driveways this year from 0600. See below A suggested order of service by my local RSL. 0600 Family members assemble in the driveway with a lit candle or torch, if a little windy. You can Mention that this year is the 105th Annive...rsary of the Landing of Australian and NZ Troops at ANZAC Cove. 0605 Ode 0608 Play Last Post on your phone or via a Bluetooth speaker. 0609 One-minute silence 0610 Reveille on your phone or via a Bluetooth speaker. 0612 Australian National Anthem on your phone or via a Bluetooth speaker. 0615 New Zealand National Anthem on your phone or via a Bluetooth speaker. Following the service have ready the ingredients for your gunfire breakfast including: Bacon Eggs Sausages Rum for your Coffee and/or tea to toast the fallen The Last Post, Reveille and both National Anthems can be downloaded from https://anzacportal.dva.gov.au/commemo/event-planning/music. 08.01.2022 A look at the time capsule nature of the cockpit of NZ2423 - still as it was when it came off the line at North American Aviation's Dallas (Grand Prairie) facto...ry in mid 1945. We wound and set the time on the clock at the top of the instrument panel yesterday and its still keeping good time today. First chance also to open the container doors and pleased to find everything had travelled well. Inside the container are the belly scoop assembly ("dog house"), propeller, outer wings, tail fin, rudder, tailpane and elevators, ailerons and flaps and a multitude of everything else.

02.01.2022 For those new to this page, it's ourpose is to remember the fallen and those who served as a community. So ad photos from your local memorial it doesn't have to be Australian. This is the Beersheba Memorial in Caulfield Vic. 800 Lighthorse charged mounted against 5000 Turks in 1917.

We are now in Bundy and will v...isit the War Memorial in Bourbong St. We are mow based at the Bargara Caravan Park and learning about our caravan. Our next stop is to be decided. See more
