24.01.2022 Major Updates on 887 Skilled Regional Visa with Concessional Period Explanation Concession Period starts from 1st February 2020 until Minister will amend the end date in future. 887 Skill Regional Visa:... The applicant can apply for Subclass 887 Visa from offshore durian concession period in the following circumstances: - the applicant holds a qualifying provisional visa or a related bridging visa; or - the applicant was the holder of a qualifying provisional visa or a related bridging visa (in which case the applicant must be outside Australia); or - the applicant is a family member of one of these applicants and is seeking to satisfy the secondary visa criteria. Residential Requirements: As per the amendment, Visa applicant has taken to live in regional for 6 months during the concession period and therefore only need to have actually for 18 months, rather than two years. It means that it will reduce the original 2 years requirements by 6 months to meet this criterion. Work Experience Requirements: As per amendment visa applicant require to meet nine months full-time experience requirements rather than 12 months provided that 887 visas are made no later than three months after the concession period ends. 19.01.2022 The Department of Home affairs has published the detailed outcomes from the 2019-20 Migration Program. The total permanent migration intake was 140,366 in 2019-20. Over Seventy per cent of the visas were granted through the skilled stream (95,843 in total), including 4,109 places under the highly skilled Global Talent Independent program, launched in November 2019.... There were 23,372 regional visas delivered, from the 25,000 places allocated for Regional Employer or Skilled Program. There were 41,961 visas granted in the Family program, including 37,118 Partner visas. Two-thirds of permanent visas were granted to individuals already in Australia who transitioned from a temporary visa to permanent residency.
