12.01.2022 Unique Opportunity from RACS: The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons are looking for surrogate patient volunteers for our Clinical Examinations. The Clinical Exams will be held on the morning (7am until 12noon) of Saturday 27 February 2021 at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. A minimum of 16 surrogates are required. Being a surrogate patient is an invaluable experience for medical students offering insight into the clinical side of becoming a surgeon. The Clinical Exam is a ...practical exam that assesses clinical application of basic sciences, as well as technical and non-technical competencies. It consists of 16 five-minute stations designed to test knowledge of the clinical conditions and scenarios encountered as a junior doctor working in a hospital. The stations cover various areas of clinical practice and all surgical specialities. As a surrogate patient you will assist by participating in mock verbal and physical examinations. 10.01.2022 With most 1st years mastering the simple interrupted suture at MedCamp yesterday, we were so thrilled to see the amazing progress they have made with their suturing skills! We are loving the positive feedback on the ease of suturing using our home-made skin pads! And a big thank you to everyone on the committee who gave up their time to help out!
