24.01.2022 More good news for those modelling the railways in Victoria in N scale!

24.01.2022 Hi Everyone, I have an exciting announcement, Lyndon from Lyndons Trains has taken on the job of bringing back many the Aust-N-Rail kits by casting, packing and retailing. They will also appear on the Aust-N-Rail website. Even when I had the parts in stock I just wasnt able to generate the time to do this with my full time employment. Will post more here and via Lyndons Trains. It will take us some time to sort through what I have.

24.01.2022 Making model trains involves a lot of processes and technology, and is very labour intensive. There are a number of videos from companies showing the processes, the following is a very good example, in this case from Roco in Europe. https://www.youtube.com/watch

24.01.2022 Happy New Year everyone! We have begun the re-release of kits, the first are the ZF and CP guards Vans. Both are simple kits to make, include the decals, bogies and couplers, and etched brass details.

23.01.2022 After a couple of weeks away for work I came home to a ShapeWays package, the latest (and almost final) VR C class. This one features the tender sitting at the right height relative to the body, although it looks a little high off the bogies due to the bogies having smaller diameter wheels, and the mech sitting about 1mm to high over the motion... this is the best compromise available. I spent about an hour undercoating then cleaning up the print with sandpaper and files.

23.01.2022 It was great to meet all our customers at the Caulfield show! Our next outing is Sandown 2018 on the March long weekend.

23.01.2022 It was great to catch up with so many people last weekend at the Caulfield show! For the next two months orders will be slow as I have a lot of work commitments and travel.

22.01.2022 Hi everyone, I hope everyone is doing ok but I know some wont be and my thoughts are with you. My full time job is very busy and this will continue, if not get busier With my wife doing shift work in a hospital time is a little precious for me now and Im not getting much done with Aust-N-Rail... however I know I am very fortunate. These are tough times - please be kind to everyone.... Best Regards Rob

21.01.2022 Aust-N-Rail will be in attendance.

20.01.2022 We congratulate Gopher Models on announcing these models, we expect this will revolutionise Australian N scale! These are the most requested models by our customers.

20.01.2022 Hi everyone, due to extensive travel for work, including two overseas trips, between now and Christmas please expect delays when order Aust-N-Rail items. I suggest ordering Christmas items early!

20.01.2022 Aust-N-Rail will be at the Sandown show in Melbourne 7-9 March, drop in and say hi!

20.01.2022 SDS Models have announced an N scale NR class locomotive due to be released July-September 2019, really looking forward to seeing this available, one of the most requested models!

19.01.2022 Due to other commitments Aust-N-Rail will not be at the Sandown show in March. First time in eight years, we expect to be there next year! You should all still go though, it is a great show.

17.01.2022 Price drop to $2000 Or Nearest Offer. For sale on behalf of someone else. This portable 2700x100cm (in two pieces 1350 x 100cm) and 95cm height (with removable legs) layout was custom professionally built by Rob Carpenter and John Smith featuring Peco code 80 points, trackrite roadbed, full point control with in fascia panel push buttons, Lenz DCC system with wireless control.... Inspired by the Maribyrnong goods line the track plan is a high-level double-track oval, with a 4 platform-face junction station on one long side, and 3 additional full-length storage tracks on the other long side. See the track plan image. The layout is suitable for Australian, British or US operation, as the purpose-built buildings are intentionally generic in type, and easily individualised if desired. From the station, the dock branch makes a 180 degree turn as it descends to the full-length lower-level river-side docks with eight sidings. These serve 5 industries- a container terminal, a grain or cement silo/terminal, several general timber and merchandise sheds, coal and briquette sidings, and a small oil refinery. On the opposite side of the river are two-low-level wharves for smaller vessels. On the upper level there is a rail siding with road access for matching cement silos, timber yard or coal yard, and petroleum products depot, There is therefore much interesting operating potential. One platform can be used for a Vintage or Preservation Society train for further variety. Suitable container trains, coal trains, timber trains, cement wagon trains, petroleum tank train, and vintage carriages are available separately if desired. No locomotives are included, but some are available separately if required. Control is by DCC, Digital-plus Lenz with LH 100 hand-held controller, suitable for one, two or three-person operation. All points (turnouts) are remote controlled from both long sides of the layout. The layout baseboards, track laying and wiring is by a professional model-maker and manufacturer, while the scenery and buildings by an amateur with over 60 years experience. The layout is currently in Canterbury, Victoria, 3126

16.01.2022 Hi all, Aust-N-Rail will be at the Caulfield show this weekend, I am looking for anyone interested to help out at the show on the Aust-N-Rail stand, free entry food and drinks all day. I need 1-2 people per day to help with the stand by talking to people and running the small layout.

16.01.2022 Aust-N-Rail cant be there; however we wish to promote this show!

16.01.2022 Due to work Aust-N-Rail wont be able to do orders for about three weeks, sorry!

16.01.2022 I have been looking forward to this.

15.01.2022 Hi everyone, well after 12 years since the GY project was commenced, and 11 since they hit the market we have sold out of the red GYs, with a few hundred each of the yellows to go. The plan is to rerun them, the when depends on demand and cashflow to pay for them!

13.01.2022 I hope all in the Aust-N-Rail community are safe, well and getting support where needed. Please keep following the guidelines! Thank you all for the many orders over the last few weeks, certainly a decent amount of productive modelling occurring! We are out on Unitrack straights, and low on many other items, we are expecting more stock in 3-4 weeks but prices will be higher due to increase cost of airfreight.... We do have some starter sets. I am also waiting on a restock of Microtrains bogies, so availability of Aust-N-Rail rollingstock may be impacted shortly for a week or two.
