23.01.2022 The SA Government has announced that they will lift border restrictions with NSW from midnight tomorrow Wednesday September 23. From Thursday, travellers will... no longer have to complete the 14 days of quarantine when entering South Australia. Queensland will be opening its borders to five additional New South Wales Shires from October 1st. These Shires include Byron, Ballina, Lismore, Richmond Valley and Glenn Innes. This is great news for residents in the West and North of the electorate and hopefully we will see an extension on the easing of QLD border restrictions to include the Barwon Electorate in the coming weeks.

19.01.2022 Help for NSW children to board within reach of their families Our team has been following the efforts by the ICPA NSW Access to Education and ICPA Aust - Isolat...ed Children's Parents' Association, parents and schools to work with Federal and State governments for a longer term, more consistent and suitable approach to interstate student boarding issues to ensure continuity of education for rural and remote families. The general uncertainty and unknown nature of the impacts of COVID-19 has prompted many families to look for new education options within NSW that will allow them to see their children more freely during these unexpected times. While there has been some short term progress, the situation has created unnecessary anxiety and frustrations amongst the families impacted. It is important for these communities to know there are other educational boarding options within reach and they have not been forgotten. Scots All Saints College has been more fortunate than most to be able to ‘spread out’ and expand our boarding facilities over the past few months for girls and boys on both the Scots Campus and All Saints Campus, in Bathurst. While our boarding school is growing, we still have capacity to take on new boarders. We would like to extend an invitation to any families living in NSW who are considering boarding and may now want to keep their children closer to home in regional NSW to contact us on 6333 4726. We understand not all families can come to us so we plan to visit remote and rural communities to discuss opportunities for NSW families. RSVPs essential via [email protected] #griffith #waggawagga #cowra #condobolin #brokenhill #warren #narrabri #moree #gilgandra - Director of Boarding - Mr Anthony Le Couteur -

18.01.2022 Good news confirmed! QLD parents have shared with us a class exemption issued by the QLD Government yesterday, allowing QLD kids, who board in NSW schools, to t...ravel home for the holidays. The conditions are outlined in the attached document. Great to see some common-sense and compassionate solutions at last. Well done to all who have worked so hard for this, especially ICPA QLD INC - Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association Queensland Inc and all the active mums and dads out there. We'll continue to advocate for a nation-wide approach that is clear and transparent, and the best possible outcome for our kids, to ensure no one is left behind. See more

17.01.2022 Progress! Good to hear the news out of QLD and SA today that the borders are starting to open up. The QLD government has announced that the Queensland’s border... zone will expand from 1am on Thursday, October 1 to include Byron, Ballina, Lismore, Richmond Valley and Glen Innes council areas. SA has announced that it will reopen its borders to NSW, where there is no community transmission, as of midnight tomorrow. As Minister for Regional Education, I am continuing to work with stakeholders to ensure that our kids in interstate schools can get home and back to school again without the angst of the past few months. We need to make sure families aren't put through that stress again!

13.01.2022 As part of the Australian Governments Drought Community Support Program, both Vinnies and The Salvation Army have been asked to help distribute Drought Community Support Initiative Round 2 funds. This year, Vinnies have found it more difficult than ever to promote this program to those most in need, due to the ongoing changing COVID-19 landscape, and so now, more than ever Vinnies are reaching out to partner networks to assist them in ensuring that any eligible farming househ...old is aware of the program, and is given an opportunity to apply. Basically the DCSI assistance is for: Farmers, farm workers, farm suppliers and farm contractors who live and / or work in one of the eligible local government areas: Who are Australian citizens or permanent residents Are 18 years of age or over Have not had this assistance since 19 November 2019 from either The Salvation Army or St Vincent de Paul (Vinnies). NB: Each household can receive up to $3,000 tax free. If there is more than one house on a property, each household can apply. Farm workers living in accommodation provided by the farmer, for example a shearing quarters, are each able to apply. Confirmation would be sought from the farmer to clarify they work for the farmer. Community members who have received assistance due to fires are still eligible for the Drought Community Support Initiative assistance if the meet our guidelines. Abattoir workers (not admin or the office workers) and sale yard workers are also eligible and classed as farm workers. See more information on the flyer below.

13.01.2022 October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. "Whether you’re a mother or father, or a husband or a son, or a niece or a nephew or uncle, Breast Cancer doesn’t discriminate." We would love to hear from our schools who might be raising awareness this month and how?

10.01.2022 ***UPDATE*** ***NSW/VIC BOARDING STUDENTS ***ALL AGES*** ***NEW PERMIT*** Today, 1 October 2020, the NSW Minister for Health signed a new Public Health Order ...which now has a PERMIT 8B for NSW or Victorian residents who attend boarding school in either State. 07.01.2022 Well, that time has now come, an empty boarding house. For the first time since Easter weekend, Grammar has no boarders, with all making their way home, staying... with friends or into the care of loved ones. It’s been an amazing year, who would have thought it would have been what it has? After, the infamous TSS gastro event of 2018, the 2019 Townsville floods and then the 2020 pandemic, its safe to say that there is little else left on the list for 2021 to surprise me with....although.... Thanks to all the amazing people I work with, way too many people to mention specifically. An organisation is always rated on its employees, I’m glad to be working at a first rate place. Looking forward to a bit of a break and time with the family. That’s if they will remember me, it’s been a while since I was a permanent fixture in the household. Only a few days left in the office....oh what a feeling! The dream continues, just in holiday mode!
