25.01.2022 This drone shoots out a net and catches other drones that are nearby. Handy security tool for stadiums, concerts etc I would imagine. Some people would love to utilise this system to bring down an annoying drone that flies over their house on a regular basis! https://www.cnbc.com//watch-fortem-dronehunter-stop-trespa

24.01.2022 This article cites research showing the majority of civilian drone crashes are caused by equipment failure, not operator error. This roughly matches our claims statistics too. http://www.abc.net.au//drone-accidents-mostly-caus/7780066

21.01.2022 Drone hits aircraft in Canada. There have been many close calls and a few actual incidents, but to my knowledge no serious damage or injury done (so far). Is it a legitimate concern or blown out of proportion? https://www.cnet.com//drone-hits-commercial-aircraft-over/

21.01.2022 Eagles attacking drones. We have paid out numerous insurance claims for this, including both the incidents mentioned in this article: for Aerial Image Works and Australian UAV. It will be interesting to see some of the technological solutions developed to counter this problem. http://www.theaustralian.com.au//d0fdedd44057b87e68b87abde

16.01.2022 Austbrokers Aviation have developed a specific insurance policy for CASA certified drone operators, which we believe provides the broadest coverage available in the market. The broad cover under our drone insurance policy is a reflection of the high levels of professionalism and safety that ReOC holders possess. We currently arrange insurance policies for over 400 ReOC holders, with more joining each week. The security behind our policy is a large global Insurer. To date we have settled over $1.25 million in drone insurance claims, with the vast majority being paid within 7 days of receiving the required information. If you would like a quotation, please complete our online application form at http://www.absaviation.com.au/html/uav_application_form.cfm and we will get back to you within 24 hours.

11.01.2022 Heres an example of a recent drone insurance claim. This drone crashed into the roof of an apartment building after suffering a mechanical fault. The insurance policy paid for (1) hiring a crane to retrieve the drone from the roof; (2) repairs to the damaged roof; and (3) repairs to the damaged drone.
