16.01.2022 CENTRAL COAST TENCHA . Region: Central Coast, NSW Type: Green tea ... Cultivar: Yabukita Central Coast Tencha, is a high quality and rare green tea, known as the raw material used for the production of Matcha powder. Since the cultivation process is the same, as for Gyokuro- the tea bushes are shaded before they are harvested- to enhance its chlorophyll, theanine, and other compounds. Which in turn produces a sweeter flavour profile, that is creamy and smooth with barely any astringency. There is a wonderful balance between sweetness and umami, which makes this a pleasure to drink. @ Mangrove Mountain, New South Wales https://www.austea.com.au//produ/central-coast-tencha-2018

08.01.2022 Bellingen Guradji - Raw sun dried Region: Bellingen, New South Wales Type: Indigenous Tisane Bellingen Gurdji (ger-ra-je) is a traditional Australian native plant used to bring Indigenous people together. When someone visited another clan, they sought out the Guradji Man, for permission to access that clan’s country. They would then share Gurdji, which had a relaxing effect. This act said: 'I am comfortable to share Gurdji with you; you are welcome on my country'. Ha...nd-harvested and dried naturally by the sun, Gurdji Raw Sundried tisane, is cleansing and refreshing. At first, it is light and mildly bitter, the natural sweetness and nutty flavour deepens with each sip and steep. The compounds in this tisane, are known to be highly effective in fighting diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, ageing, and also have neuroprotective potential in the body. https://www.austea.com.au

06.01.2022 The road to recovery for our abandoned tea plantation has been a slow one. Finding the time has been difficult, but thanks to our wonderful volunteers, we are finally starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. AUSTEA in conjunction with The Australian Tea Growers cooperative, hopes to use this site as an education centre for tea. And a way for people to develop a better understanding of this amazing product and the opportunities it can bring to our economy. Stay tuned. @ Mangrove Mountain, New South Wales
