23.01.2022 Some excellent news was announced on Friday (25 September) relating to capacity of events and venues in NSW! - Entertainment facilities (including theatre, cinema and concert venues) will now able to sell tickets for seated events at 50 per cent of capacity, to a maximum of 1000 tickets. - Function centres will now be able to host up to whichever is the lesser of 300 people or one person per four square metres for a corporate event. (Note - this is a capacity increase of 150 ...patrons) The NSW Government’s MR says it’ll come into effect this week but some media outlets like the SMH are reporting that it will come into effect on Thursday 1 October. Regardless, it's still fantastic news and a step closer to the business events, tourism and arts industries getting back on track! If you're interested in holding an event - no matter how big or small (from small scale networking events to large festivals), please contact me - [email protected] - for a free 1 hour consultation & quote. A little about me: I am the Director of Australian Festival Consulting (AFC) - a marketing and event management consultancy that specialises in the business event, festival and tourism sectors. AFC is also the owner and delivery organisation behind the Australian Festival Industry Conference - www.australianfestivalconference.com.au

18.01.2022 Last night I had the pleasure of coordinating Coffs Harbour City Council's first ever 'speed networking event' for the creative industries sector at the Jetty Memorial Theatre. Local creatives had a unique opportunity to meet one another, along with some key Council staff members from its major events, arts and culture divisions. The event was a great success and received exceptionally positive reviews from both internal and external stakeholders. Looking forward to the next one already! 16.01.2022 Great news for corporate events, hospitality venues and weddings! Let's not forget that music festivals are also permitted 500 people, provided that they're seated and abiding by the 1 per 4sq mt rule :)

13.01.2022 The Live Entertainment industry - - Is worth $36.4 billion - Comprises of 4 sub-sectors (listed below) - In 2019 employed 122,000 full-time workers (or 150,000... when to including the casual and freelance staff) - Covid cost the industry 79,000 jobs! These are just some of the stats that will be featured in the The Economic Cost of COVID-19 on Australia’s Live Entertainment Industry report, due out later this month. The study has attempted to quantify the size and measurement of the live performance, sports, music and live events sub-sectors, which make up the overall Live Entertainment industry; plus, quantifying the cost of covid-19. Thanks to the Live Entertainment Industry Forum (LEIF) for their hard work in generating these statistics in partnership with Ernst & Young. Let's arm ourselves with these stats and start spreading the word!

06.01.2022 Hey everyone, I thought it might be timely to introduce myself personally. My name's Carlina. I'm 34 and I'm originally from Coffs Harbour. After about 12 years of being away, I moved back to enjoy its stunning lifestyle! Professionally speaking I do a couple of things: I'm the founder and event director of the Australian Festival Industry Conference which I started last year here in Coffs. In my "spare time", I also provide freelance marketing, PR and event management servi...ces to festival, tourism and creative industries clients. Most recently I had the pleasure of delivering Coffs Harbour City Council's first networking event for the creative industries sector at Jetty Memorial Theatre. I've also helped Screenwave film festival market themselves far & wide to out-of-town attendees. Here's a few ways I can help you: generating PR to help you tell your story + spreading the word out about your craft; writing grant applications; or organising any promotional or industry events. Always keen to connect with like-minded people so please feel free to shoot me an e-mail at [email protected] Cheers, C :) See more

05.01.2022 Our very own creation, the Australian Festival Industry Conference, came in as one of two national finalists for Best Achievement in Event Education & Training. Great to be in a room full of incredible talent and all sharing the same story of covid. Looking at the calibre of event winners across all the other categories, I'd say AFIC is still punching above its weight for an inaugural event Congratulations to all the winners and nominees! Looking forward to 2021! #afic2021
