21.01.2022 LOOKING FOR ENGINEERS austfish Pty Ltd, Northern Territory, Australia ABN 18 012 058 505. Operations in northern prawn fishing industry Australia.... Positions are available for Marine Engine Drivers MED2 or above alternating between prawn seasons and refit periods. A year in the commercial northern prawn fishery consists of: Banana prawn fishing season April-June. Vessel repair & refit June-July. Tiger prawn fishing season August-November. Vessel repair & refit December- March. Full time positions across all operations available and potential for long term employment based on experience and suitability of applicants. Remuneration is paid out at the of the seasons on a crew share basis and vessel repair & refit work is paid on a hourly rate basis weekly. Successful applicants will be responsible for the day to day running of plant and machinery aboard the vessel and general maintenance and repair while at sea and general repair and maintenance work in refit periods. Applicants will be able to demonstrate competent knowledge in the running and basic maintenance of engines, pumps. hydraulics, winches and must have experience on refrigeration plants.
