23.01.2022 Our kids bathroom is coming along nicely for our latest personal project! Pedastool basin in the powder room of this renovation and a gorgeous powdered teal tile. Weve used black grout in the shower to make it easy for cleaning and tied this in with black hardware, including the black claws on the bath tub. We have a beautiful grey feature tile and bespoke grey vanity. Our walls will be white and we need to source an open cabinet to hold our towels, bath salts, candles and ...other essential bathroom items. Our shower has no glass screen, again for easy cleaning; instead weve extended the tiled wall to prevent water spillage. Our bespoke bathroom vanity is large enough for twin basins- one for each of the kids to mess up!! This timber vanity was painted using chalk paint and then varnished. White basins compliment the white subway tiles in the shower recess. The black hardware correlates with the black grout. Our feature lights should be fit off next week, so more photos will follow. 18.01.2022 Dark skirting and window framing for a dramatic look. This colour is Valspar - Country Living, its a grey colour, using black with a touch of oak and rust to get the colour. Love!! The walls are Valspar- Hamptons, a white. The cornice will be a very subtle, light grey. 16.01.2022 Walls have been removed, new openings cut and stud work for new walls have been created. The new project is moving along! Gyprock and reskimming the plaster walls should finish this weekend. Our new project had been battered and bruised literally by the previous owners. Unfortunately the existing timber architraves, doors and windows could not be salvaged as theyd been taken to with a baseball bat, or something like that! But well be restoring as many features as possible. 14.01.2022 We recently finished this renovation in Rivervale, WA for clients who live in Melbourne. Throughout the 7 month complete renovation we communicated with the owners in order to finish to a high standard. The final property boasted:... complete new re-wiring of all electrics complete re-plumbing fully ducted air conditioning throughout insulation throughout James Hardy Scyon Linea weatherboard to the exterior new jarrah floors to the halls, lounge, dining & kitchen carpeted bedrooms tiled bathroom, laundry and en-suite. The photos speak for themselves; the high skirting boards, detailed door and window architraves and ornate cornice ensured the character of the home was celebrated. 12.01.2022 Been a while since we updated Austin Homes- this is what's been going on in 2017: In January we started an extension and renovation in Bassendean that was complete in July Various mini private jobs happened at Aubin Grove and South Perth Three more contracts for extensions and renovations were signed in the second half of the year for * Gooseberry Hill (started Oct 2017 and due to finish around Feb 2018)... * Vic Park (to start Jan 2018) * Maylands (to start in Jan 2018) * Como- contract to be signed and work to begin in January 2018 2018 is looking busy and exciting! 10.01.2022 One of my favoruite rooms in the house (actually I have a few), when designing the house it was important for me to keep the massive coral tree and I had visions of my bath "sitting" in that tree! The floors are marble laid in travertine pattern, the vanity I picked up from an antique shop, painted it in Annie Sloan Graphite and I will finish it with silver leaf detail on the ornate pieces, I've always loved a claw bath. The double shower is screenless with a herringbone feat...ure in the white subway tile and the chrome accessories will set it all off. Just to add large, colonial skirting boards and we're done!
