14.01.2022 K8 in its glory days

14.01.2022 I'm sorry for my tardiness with my Catalogue on LOADSTARS. The Brakes supplier is taking a lot of time although I set them a big task to look for long deleted part numbers. The kits that are no longer available they are trying to get all the parts so they can be re-created. I'm getting the flexible brake hoses made as original, and rebonded brake shoes on exchange basis. I usually make sure that I'm buying right so prices don't get stupid. Sometimes theres no choice Watch this space I'll post soon as I've finished then, I'll send them as pdf to you.

11.01.2022 Series 2 Loadstar earning its keep. How awesome is this picture?

10.01.2022 I’m in trouble with the wife again. I bought her some lorry oil for her birthday... Apparently it’s pronounced ‘L’Oreal’

10.01.2022 Do you own an Austin A40? I have a few original Operators manuals for sale. $15 plus postage if you are interested. Can also perhaps match (or close) the printing date to the year of your car as I've got lots of different age books. Hit me up if interested. Cheers.... Brad See more

09.01.2022 Who's working on their Austin this Weekend? If so where and what are you up to?

06.01.2022 This is a beauty, check this out! Hi Brad Some history of our bus.... 1950 Austin Loadstar Used as a taxi bus service in the inner northern suburbs of Melbourne. Perimeter style seating, seats approx 14. Body originally built by Russell Mee at Cheetham and Borwick in Carlton (Vic) Russell subsequently became a well known bus body builder in Vic. The bus was traded to Mees Coachbuilders in the early 70s and retained by him for preservation. Sold in 1990 to a bus collector and retained until 2007 when purchased by myself and co owner Adam Francis. Currently under long term sympathetic restoration. Pic i sent was taken whilst it was still in service. Regards Ron Short

06.01.2022 It's been difficult to compile this first catalogue. I have been chasing suppliers all around the world for parts and prices. Parts that you could once have just by dropping into a dealership or your local Unipart store have all but dissapeared. It's a time consuming job getting this many pieces of a puzzle into one list. I may not have thousands of parts yet but with time the parts list will grow. I know this because I've done it with other trucks (Morris Commercials). So i...f you can't find it here, I still may be able to get it by time your ready. Hopefully I can make your life a little easier with your restoration. I love seeing them back on the road. A few prices are still being waited on so I got sick of waiting. I'll send these out now and then send an update soon as I have all the newest additions. Corrections will be made at that time. This Catalogue suits the Loadstar, next one I complete will be the 39 to 48/49 K2 &K4 Austin Trucks. I have available the 152 omni/J2 and also the 301/LC5 catalogues available. Message me (messenger) and I'll send you a copy of these or email me (put your model in the headline) at [email protected]

05.01.2022 Back in the 1950s and 60s if you were going to build and own an Austin dealership you were provided with a book explaing most details from site choice down to colour scheme. Here are a few pages.

05.01.2022 I'm getting my first delivery of Austin 301 1/4 window rubbers this week, I will be trial fitting them and if they are fit and perfect ( I'm assured they are then they will be for sale straight away. I hope to have K2/4, Loadstar, We and Wf available during this year... watch this page.

04.01.2022 Looooong wait I'd say

04.01.2022 All that gear would fit in the back too. Love this period advert.

02.01.2022 Just how tight is tight enough to tighten a sump bolt? although wouldnt happen on a steel sump just alloy I guess.

01.01.2022 Not only is the LOADSTAR catalogue ready I also have the Austin Gipsy Catalogue here if you have one Sqiriled away in the shed.

01.01.2022 I have an English Web site developer building me a world class page and online shop. All stock will be photographed and be listed with discription and price. Postage calculated and secure payments incl. Cards, PayPal, and AfterPay. I will also have other BMC vehicles listed in a selection so you can see what I have for other classics you may have in your garage..

01.01.2022 This is nice, 18k original miles, and less than the price of most restorations! https://collectableclassiccars.com.au//1952-austin-k2-truck

01.01.2022 Maybe this is from 1939. It says this at bottom. Look how much extra a Cab was... not much extra!
