18.01.2022 We call you all our Soo Bahk Do family, and we have seen so many of 'our' littlies grow up in the dojang, and progress through the ranks, some even to Black Belt (Dan) and beyond. But what we love the most is when the next generation suits up and takes that brave first step into the dojang. Thank you Ee Dan Rebecca Hay (Norris) for sharing this wonderful throwback photo of you and your mini-me daughter Sophie's first grading today @ Shukokai Karate Alliance - in South Australia. I have no doubt Sophie will go on to be an awesome Black belt like her mum.

The Nightcliff Middle School is undertaking some renos of the 'breezeways' at the school, and they have specifically asked that our students stay well away from construction work. I assured them our well behaved students don't wander around school grounds... So please.. NO wandering around school grounds please.... climbing trees, skateboarding on breezeways etc etc... thanks.

10.01.2022 Austin Martial Arts 2020 Dan Development team are nearing the end of their long and gruelling 2 year preparation for the 2020 Dan Shim Sa. Please over the next two weeks, lets flood the Nightcliff dojang with lots of energy, strength and good vibes to lift our fantastic candidates over the line. All Ko Dan Ja, Dans, and Gups are encouraged to be a part of the 2020 Dan Shim Sa. In particular we need participation by the whole school on the Thursday evening, and Saturday... sessions. Note classes will be on as normal all week. This is a rare opportunity to be a part of and witness a very special process. Dan Shim Sa Mon 23 November - 6 - 7.30 Dojang Tues 24 November - 6 - 7.30 Dojang (class as normal) Wed 25 November - 6 - 7.30 Dojang Thur 26 November - 6 - 7.30 Dojang (class as normal) Sat 28 November - 9 - 11am Gymnasium. (class as normal) Spectators are welcome at all sessions. All Students are encouraged to attend and support the candidates on the Thursday and Saturday sessions. Don't miss this invitation to be a part of a very meaningful process.

08.01.2022 Hands up everyone excited that KIDZ Classes for Term 3 resume this week. 6pm Monday at Bees Creek 5pm Tuesday at Nightcliff.... (remember if unwell or experiencing flu symptoms please stay home till you are feeling better!!). See you there!!

07.01.2022 ** WIND WARNING for Nightcliff dojang!!! ** Expect gale force winds, and cool conditions in the Nightcliff Dojang from early October!!! A BIG ASS FAN is being ...installed in the Octagon right now!!! which also means we cannot use the dojang and will be relocating to the AIRCONDITIONED gymnasium!!! for the two weeks of school holidays.

They have an important role in the dojang as the senior gups. All instructors are focussed on guiding and supporting them towards their goal of Dan rank. All the gups play an important a role in their journey. Did you know that as a Red belt they must. attend a MINIMUM of 3 classes per week... arrive and PREPARE 30 min prior to class. assist with KIDZ Karate class instruction lodge a personal training schedule with SBN advise SBN personally if unable to attend welcome and assist new students be a role model mentor younger gups. ALWAYS LEAD BY EXAMPLE in attitude, behaviour and commitment Support your Red Belts, they are our future leaders.
