15.01.2022 HI Otters, As you were all made aware last Sunday by email regarding the very sad news and passing of our esteemed past club member Mr Ray Young (111 Winter Swims). Further information has come to hand by his family that they will be organising a memorial for him in Thirroul in mid to late September. They will advise details ASAP. He didn't want a funeral service as such so they will be organising cremation in Adelaide and then they will drive him home to Wollongong together as promised and the event will be at the beach as he wants to be put to rest in the ocean off Thirroul. Thank you.- Vale Ray Young

08.01.2022 Otters, this coming Sunday 25/8/19 is our Swim Age Championships from 9am see you there.

07.01.2022 Hello Fellow Otters, The Executive Committee have had a meeting to decide on how best to run the 2020 season given the restrictions of the COVID19 virus. Whilst we shall endeavour to complete our calendar, we will have to make decisions and changes as the government reduces the restrictions, however I have listed below the agreed plan on starting the season. As stated before we will have to be fluid and change items as we go. - Our swimming season will commence thi...s Sunday morning (June 7th) and we will have 4 off times to swim, being 9.00am: 9:20am, 9:40am and 10:00am. There will be a maximum of 10 people per session and if required we will have further sessions. More will be explained at the swim on Sunday you should plan what time you which to swim, there will be heats and a final no relay. - The point score and 100% will commence on the following Sunday (June 14th) and we will run to the normal end of season in September, you will note that there will only be one (1) away swim this year and that will be the Dubbo trip as most of the other south coast clubs will not be swimming this season and there will be no South Coast Champo’s. - The usual four (4) away or early swims will still stand, there will also be a consideration for COVID19, this being that those over 65 years of age with health issues and those over 70 years of age or should anyone show symptoms etc, the committee will work with those persons to ensure that they can still enjoy having a swim and meeting up with mates. - The AGM will most probably be held within the next four (4) weeks, once we have arranged the venue and notified all members. - We have a number of T shirts and swimmers that can be purchased from the club so just check at the pool. - Following this week’s swim there will be soup at Beaches Hotel and we will meet there at 10:30am, there will be a charge of $5:00 for the soup for everyone who attends to support the Hotel. Should you have any queries then just email me and please tell any of the members of our start this Sunday. Thank you Gary Peers President Austinmer Otters
