13.01.2022 It is great to see what choirs around the country have been doing during the pandemic. It is even better to see that the choral community across Australia cannot be beaten by this pandemic which is forcing us to rethink much of our everyday way of life. ANCA encourages all choirs to regularly revisit the advice offered by their State Governments and health experts and follow the State and Territory guidelines issued by these departments. Update from ANCA President Dr. Debra Shearer-Diri > https://anca.org.au//adapting-to-the-new-normal-with-covid

13.01.2022 Choralfest 2021 Adelaide has been postponed due to the impacts of COVID-1 On behalf of the Australian National Choral Association (ANCA), we are announcing the postponement of Choralfest 2021 which was scheduled to take place April 10 13, 2021 in Adelaide. The decision which has been made in consultation with the Committee has been made in recognition of the evolving and everchanging global medical crisis COVID-19, that has impacted communities globally. ... Whilst we anticipate that the ban on large meetings will have lifted by April 2021, the uncertainty associated with the increasing spread of COVID-19 has resulted in concern about the ability of sponsors, stakeholders, international and Australian conductors and potential attendees to commit to Choralfest over the course of this year. The health services not only in Australia but globally have been placed on high alert and we have taken this into consideration in our commitment to the general health of the community and the acknowledgement that for the most part of 2020, our members and potential attendees of Choralfest will have other key focuses. This has been a challenging decision in an everchanging situation and we have committed to reschedule Choralfest to April 20-23, 2022 in Adelaide. Please make sure you put this date in your diaries and plan to join us to celebrate the power of singing as it connects and unites us in music making and conversation. We will have a lot to talk about. We apologise for this but hope you understand the reasons for this difficult decision and that you will still plan to attend and support what will be an excellent Choralfest 2022! We thank you for your support and patience at this time. Debra Shearer-Diri on behalf of ANCA National Council and the Choralfest Committee
