25.01.2022 Join us and Carla Mullins in our last Blitzilates for 2020. Grab your full weekend pass or single session from the website. All sessions have a seven day playback. Claiming Immunity (pre-recorded 1.5hour Session)... Live Q&A - Sunday 25th October 2020 - 2.00pm - 2.30pm The immune system is topical, but it is an area of passion for Carla Mullins who for many years has worked with clients who have had their immune system compromised for a variety of reasons. In May Carla took participants through a mat class for managing the immune system for the APMA pilates day. It was not your traditional class but many found the class deeply calming and settling for their body and mind. In this session Carla will give more of the theory and background about our immune system and simple strategies and modifications that can be incorporated into our studio and programming. The workshop will incorporate theory and repertoire applications and modifications.Students will of course receive pdf notes in conjunction with this workshop.

14.01.2022 Dear Members The support for last week's online petition has been outstanding, thank you. The APMA Council continues to aim to provide a position of support, advocacy and community for its members. We have tried our utmost to listen and respond to the voices of our membership. We respect that not all members are in support of a return to face to face teaching yet. Our intention was to raise the option of allowing the choice for some teachers/clients to return to studio teachi...ng. It was not intended to suggest that face to face teaching should resume for all, as that remains a choice for each individual, specific to studio setting and clientele. Thank goodness for Zoom! Be assured that the APMA remains stronger with a membership that converses honestly and robustly. https://youtu.be/MZ1BB3ctv8s Stronger together, APMA Council

09.01.2022 CHANGE HAPPENS, MOVEMENT HEALS by Geri Taylor Motion is lotion. Move it or lose it. Change happens through movement, and movement heals. (Joseph Pilates). Whether you are hoping for physical change, emotional or spiritual change, movement is required. As movement professionals we know this to be true. Here are nine of my favourite movements which you can add to your daily Pilates or fitness routine. They work the whole body to hydrate and massage soft tissue, allo...wing changes and healing to take place. Enjoy these exercises. Play with them, teach them, and let me know what you think. As always, take care of your body first and only do moves that are safe and effective. Thanks to Kath Gannon and Jenelle Pike for being such inspiring models. Cheers, Geri Taylor [email protected] 1. 06.01.2022 Join us and Renae Blackmore for the last Blitizlates of 2020 Grab your tickets via the website a full weekend or single sessions available all with 7 day playback and CECs! Major sponsor Leisure concepts ... Balance It Out Saturday 24th October 2020 - 3.00pm - 5.00pm Finding balance is something that we all strive for in our lives. Work, rest and play seem to be our main concerns in life but what about the internal balance systems of our bodies. Your sense of balance is made up of 3 different systems; Vision, Proprioception and Vestibular System all work together to create stability for your mind, body and vision. Balance is NOT about standing on one leg, eyes staring straight and hoping for the best. Balance involves our bodies movement in relation to our vision and sensory input. Injuries, diseases, ageing and certain drugs both recreational and prescribed can effect our balance, enhancing our fear of falling and limiting our movements. Balance is a skill that should be practiced and maintained everyday for every body. This fun, challenging and rewarding workout will bring to life your 3 balance Systems. Your Vision, Vestibular System, and Proprioception will be put to the test, further enhancing signals to the brain to help the body to stay upright. Challenging transitions and sequences that vary directions will leave you and your body awareness feeling stronger, balanced and more confident. Participant to have: mat, pen and tennis ball.

04.01.2022 To our valued Members, We are reaching out to you to let you know that we are aware of the current challenges facing our Pilates community in Victoria. A number of actions that the APMA is taking will be much more effective and powerful if we all get behind them. Currently, the Victorian government roadmap states that in Step 4, studios will be allowed to open. That’s too late for our community. We want Pilates studios to open in Step 3 (end of October)! We have set up an onl...ine petition - https://www.change.org/p/minister-for-health-of-victoria-re Please sign if you are a pilates lover, it's suitable for both instructors and clients. Let’s support our people in Victoria to get back in the studio and reap the benefits of The Pilates Method by Step 3. Stronger together, APMA Council
