22.01.2022 May have some implications for the show season.

22.01.2022 The 'Too Generous with Feed?' article in our latest issue of Australasian Poultry magazine, Volume 31 Issue No 1, April/May prompted one of our readers to examine their feeding practices and found out that they were, indeed, wasting a lot of expensive feed. So, out came the stored hanging feeders and they could hardly believe how much remained each day. Rough calculation suggested they were feeding out about twice what was required. With the uncertainty over supply in the ...coming months, this advice was much appreciated and valuable. Thanks to Brenda for writing the article. The current issue is available through some newsagent or alternatively the current issue, back issues & yearly subscriptions can be purchased from our office, phone 03-5792-4000 email [email protected] or a yearly subscription can be purchased on-line through iSubscribe. 07.01.2022 For the next 30 days (from 7 August), all poultry keepers - even those with just two or three chickens or birds are required by law to keep their birds housed... in the Golden Plains Shire Council. Where possible, move birds into a suitable building, like a shed or outbuilding adapted to house them, or a new temporary structure. Put netting over openings to stop wild birds getting in. If you cannot keep your birds housed, you must take other steps to separate your poultry and their food and drink away from wild birds.
