With black leather seating throughout, reversible middle row seating, communication to rear compartment via a handy drivers mic, called Digital Voice Enhancer, which pipes the voice of the driver through the speakers so they can be heard by those in the back, great for helping keep those little ones under control. Powered by a 4cyl Dual Turbo Diesel producing 150kW or power and a massive 450nm of Torque. It has Two Turbos. Its a totally new engine for the T6 range and the smaller of the two turbos kicks in before a larger turbo to reduce lag. Meaning all that torque comes in right from the press of the peddle.

25.01.2022 There is something nice about seeing beautifully restored cars. Once again I find myself visiting friends in Williamstown and stumbling over some beautiful vehicles. 2 x 56 Chevs, sorry for the poor images. I added it because right next to it is a G Class Mercedes, and I found the contrast really nice. The next week I was at Bunnings in Altona and I see another group of beautiful samples from our past. 22.01.2022 Are Your Loved Ones Safe? Its worth considering the following in regards to answering this question. Over the past few months AVBS has had an increased level of requests for vehicles that offer high levels of safety. The Victorian Towards Zero campaign is advertising that buying a safer car will help their cause. I saw this on an overhead illuminated sign inbound on the M1 just last week. So its worth asking yourself, are you and your loved ones the safest you can be? Beca...use there are many features that are now available, to decrease your chances of having and accident while increasing your chances of being safe if an impact does happen. Lane Departure There two programs in play here. Lane departure warning, which beeps and in some cases, shakes the steering wheel if you stray over to the white line. Then there is lane departure assist, which actively steers you back inside the lane when you stray. Blind Spot Monitor If you have ever driven in traffic, there are times when you just dont notice the car that is just behind and in your blind spot. Most systems have a red light in the rear-view mirror that illuminates when a vehicle is in your blind spot. If you try and change lanes the system signals that there is a vehicle there. Adaptive Cruise Control Here again we have a few options. One that beeps and flashes when you get to close to the car in front. The next adjusts the speed of your vehicle to maintain the distance between you and the car in front. This system (in many cases) has collision mitigation, meaning the vehicle brakes and attempts to avoid and reduce the impact speed, which reduces injuries. Some vehicle systems use steering, braking and power control to avoid collisions. One thing to be careful of is that for some vehicles if cruise control is not engaged, collision mitigation is also inactive. Fatigue Alert This excellent little system monitors the driver and makes noises to keep the driver alert and also instructs them to take a break. Airbags These seem to a forgotten feature. Yet when the worst happens they play such critical role in reducing deaths. Driver and passenger airbags have been around for many years, however side curtain, seatbelt, pedestrian, are all now featured to reduce injury and deaths. The Simple things Heated mirrors, auto dipping head lights, tyre pressure monitors, run flat tyres, seatbelt pre-tensioners, braking, steering, traction control, ESP systems, and the list goes on. A car has two primary functions, to get you around, and to protect you from harm (From the elements and contact with objects). Otherwise, we may as well ride a motor bike. 18.01.2022 What about this beautiful 1960s Corvette. I spotted this parked on a street in Caulfield. While AVBS cant supply one I thought it was worth sharing. Early designs for vehicles had such beautiful lines, something which has been lost due to aero dynamics to reduce fuel consumption. I totally agree that we need to protect the environment for future generations, and that design needs to keep progressing. However its great to reflect on designs from the 60s and 70s. However ...driving these older vehicles reminds us of all the nice things a new modern vehicle has to offer. Power Steering, Aircon, Brakes that actually stop the car, and handling. What the Corvette did have was power. This one pictured would have had around the same power, 200kW, as a modern Audi Q7 or a BMW X5 Petrol 6 cylinder. Not bad for 50 years ago. While no educated individual would disagree that climate change is going to have a massive impact on our world (Craig I know you would debate this), and that advancements in the reduction of fossil fuels will go some way to reduce that catastrophe. However some of the advancements in motor vehicle technology may not be as welcomed long term. When we think of the environment it is for the greater good that we all do our part, much like a lot of ...technology that is designed and targeted at the greater good. Wheels magazines Barry Clark commented, AUSTRALIAS highest road transport authority has imagined a day in which theres no need for police to watch our roads because there will be an electronic cop hard-wired into every car. Like all new tech it wont start that way, it will start with something more simple, like the Tesla system that has all cars sharing data and the Tesla Company collecting data to improve the abilities of the vehicle. All well and good. However how will that data be used? Will we be responsible for any mistake our self-driving cars make? Someone must be, right? Problem! Mercedes Benz manager of driver-less car safety Christoph von Hugo has stated, All of Mercedes-Benzs future Level 4 and Level 5 self-driving cars will be programmed to favour the driver. Meaning the pedestrian will be sacrificed if needed to save the driver. Car and Driver reports that the US Department of Transport study found 94 percent of US car crashes are the result of human error. So overall the public will be better off if accidents can be reduced. But when we get down to the granular case by case accidents, I dont think it is so simple. Could we stand in front of a jury and say, I know my car killed that child, but overall we are better off, so Im not responsible. Is it the manufacturer that is responsible, or will we as owners of the vehicle be responsible for the pre-programmed actions it takes? Its worth pondering about where we are headed with future vehicle technology, and the complications that may come from it. This tech might not be as far off as we think. 12.01.2022 Mercedes Benz GLC and GLE Coup. If you ever have a chance to drive one I highly recommend it. The styling is a lot better than the original BMW X6, its unobtrusive and more refined. Some might say that MB learnt a few lessons from the BMW X6 styling and tweaked the new GL Coups just enough to give them the same presence with a much more acceptable look. I know some people LOVE the original X6 shape, but the new ones, and the latest X4, are simply beautiful. As are these little beauties from Mercedes Benz. This one in Silver is simply stunning. 11.01.2022 BMW i3, what a great little car. If you havent driven one I suggest you do. The one pictured was the full electric version of the BMW i3, it also comes with a range extender, a small petrol motor to charge the batteries. When I turned up at the dealer to pick this one up I actually said, "this thing looks like a toy, Id never own one". 40 minutes later, I was on the other side of Melbourne wishing it was mine. This little thing hauls. Loads of power from the moment you mov...e, no waiting for full power somewhere in the rev range. Its quiet, and technically advanced, more features the Warner Bros. The owner of this one, Dr Anthony, installed a Wall Charger at home so he can get an 80% charge in 20 minutes, not that range is a problem, but on a weekend running kids all over the city, a quick top up could help.
