23.01.2022 From Tonnu Gothane Facebook Wall: Thank you Dai for your nice writing With growing of people of Nepali origin in Australia, we have witnessed rise in mental illness related cases in our community. It is very difficulty for people affected to speak about mental illness due to less knowledge about the mental illness and stigma attached to mental illness in our community.... It is a very important step for our community members and community leaders to understand about mental illness so we can assist people in need. People affected by mental illness can speak up if there is confident that community is non-judgemental to people affected by mental illness. If people affected are open to seek social or professional help, then we can prevent suicides and increase productivity in our community. I appreciate the action undertaken by Australia Nepal Public Link (ANPL) to empower community with providing training - Mental Health First Aid Training (MHFA) to deal with mental health crisis. It is FREE. I recently completed 12 hours course, Mental Health First Aid for Legal Professionals (MHFA) which costed me $330.00. Please take advantage of FREE course conducted by ANPL which gives you the CERTIFICATION that last for 3 years to assist in our Nepalese community. The more people take this course, the more aware our community can become on the issue of mental illness and also able to tackle mental illness crisis in our community. ANPL has trained over 80 people around Australia. ANPL is intends to train more people around Australia. ANPL has conducted 4 sessions in Sidney, 2 in Melbourne and 1 in Tasmania. ANPL is doing next one in Glenroy on 8 and 9 February 2020. The other one is in Geelong on 22 and 23 February 2020. Please take this opportunity and attend the course on one in Glenroy on 8 and 9 February 2020. The other one is in Geelong on 22 and 23 February 2020. I am going to Glenroy this Saturday for a course organised by ANPL. Are you?
