25.01.2022 Join us in congratulating South Australian Isobel Marshall, 22, who has been named the 2021 Young Australian of the Year in recognition of her work to fight period poverty overseas, and menstrual stigma here in Australia. When she was just 18, she co-founded TABOO with fellow South Australian Eloise Hall. Together, they crowd-funded $56,000 to launch a range of ethically sourced, organic cotton sanitary products, with 100% of net profits going to charity, including One Girls, which provides education programs for girls in Sierra Leone and Uganda; Vinnies Women’s Crisis centre; and the Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Women’s Council. Isobel is also a full-time student at the University of Adelaide, where she is studying a Bachelor of Medicine (MBBS) and a Bachelor of Surgery.

12.01.2022 It is with the deepest sadness that we mourn the passing of Neil Sachse. Neil was a nominee in the 2014 SA Australian of the Year Awards and a pillar of the community. Below is the biography that was written of Neil at the time An on-field collision in an AFL (formally VFL) match in 1975 was to change the life of Neil Sachse forever. Neil was left a quadriplegic from the accident, but the injury and the way hes handled it in the decades since have made a positive contribut...ion to the lives of many. In 1995, Neil established what is now known as the Neil Sachse Foundation, to find a cure for spinal cord injury. As Chief Executive Officer, Neil has been the driving force behind fundraising that contributed $1.5 million to a ground-breaking research project at Flinders University. This culminated in the opening of the Neil Sachse Foundation Spinal Cord Injury Research Centre. Through medical developments, the centre hopes to make a significant difference to the lives of over 10,000 Australians who currently suffer from spinal cord injury. Neil and the foundation are now focused on funding an intervention drug that helps reduce the swelling that follows a spinal cord injury. Vale Neil

10.01.2022 Partnerships | Australia Day in South Australia For the past 14 years, we have proudly supported the ADCSA in delivering a number of creative and innovative ev...ents. We're incredibly proud to be a part of inspiring the national spirit and enriching the life of the nation. Australia Day in the City is an event we're particularly excited to work on every year as it allows us to bring our innovation to the table. This year's Australia Day was a little different due to the current climate. For the first time in history, The Australia Day event was held indoors at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. AUS DAY IN THE ARENA featured live music by Aussie rockers, Birds of Tokyo, Welcome to Country and a 15-piece modern orchestra. We were privileged to yet again join ADCSA in reflecting, respecting, and honouring our diverse community and front line workers.
