22.01.2022 As of Saturday 5 September, #Australia will be reclassified by #Cyprus as a Category B country. This means that anyone arriving in Cyprus from Australia will be required to present a negative #coronavirus test (PCR) not older than 72 hours prior to boarding. Cypriot nationals and their families and permanent residents can get tested upon arrival in Cyprus at their own expense (60 euro) and remain in mandatory self-isolation until their results are delivered (up to 48 hours). Negative test certificates from Australia must clearly include your full name, the date of the test, the type of test (PCR), the institution/clinic and your negative result.

Many of the practical actions discussed at Octobers Road Safety conference co-hosted by European University Cyprus Centre of Excellence in Risk & Decision Sciences and #Australias Monash Universitys Monash University Accident Research Centre - MUARC. #MUARC also delivered a detailed set of policy suggestions for Cyprus that can help make Cypriot roads safer for all. Transcript Its only a week since my last video update for Australians in Cyprus, however, unfortunately the coronovarius continues to spread on the island and the government here has made some important announcements you should be aware of. A number of new mesaures have been announced, and rather than listing them all now, I suggest you check the Cypriot government website on your screen eblow for the full details (https://www.pio.gov.cy/coronavirus/eng) But in summary, most measures relate to the current hotspot distrcits of Limassol and Paphos. In those districts from 8pm tonight until 30 November, the nightly curfew has been extended from 8pm and 5am. Exemptions remain in place for permitted workers and for medical emergencies. It is forbidden to enter or exit these disctricts, or move between them, unless you have an exemption for essential work, need to access Limassol Port or Paphos and Larnaca Airports or for medical reasons and emergencies. A range of retail businesses have been closed though supermarkets remain open, and hospitality venues like resaturants will deliver during the time of the curfew. High schools and higher educaiton has all moved to online learning, and the public sector must work from home. Across the rest of the Republic of Cyprus, all previous measures continue to apply. Restricted trading hours at retail food businesses and pharmacies for the aged and people with a disability have been extended until 10 am each day. In addition, all playgrounds and camping grounds have been closed, and large scale conference and events have been banned. And of course, masks are still mandatory in public places indoors and outdoors for everyone over the age of 12. 10.01.2022 From 18 September, #Cyprus authorities will reclassify #Australia as a Category A country. This means all arrivals from Australia no longer need a negative PCR test within 72 hours of departure to enter Cyprus. If transiting a non-Category A country on the way to Cyprus, you must not leave the airport. Otherwise you may be relegated to the Category of that airports country. All passengers, irrespective of category must submit an application online for CyprusFlightPass (https://cyprusflightpass.gov.cy/) within 24 hours of departure. Passenger arrivals are also subject to random tests upon arrival.
