23.01.2022 Domestic violence has been increasing during COVID-19 around 250 million women around the world, including 10 million in Pakistan, are at risk of facing violence. To kick-off this year’s 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Vioence, Australia has partnered with Oxfam in Pakistan to create animated videos highlighting the impact of gender based violence on individuals, households and communities and how to access support. 23.01.2022 We are pleased to support IamKarachi for a series of public art murals across the streets of Karachi, painted by Australian artist Gabrielle Brinsmead and Pakistani artist Phool Ji. The themes of these art murals women's empowerment and the environment are a key part of Australia's work in Pakistan. The initiative aims to harness the creative power of art to foster cultural connections between Australia and Pakistan and promote these worthy causes.

21.01.2022 On World Population Day today, Australia is pleased to partner with IPPF to launch a new COVID-19 response program in Pakistan. The program will help 30,000 women across the country safely access reproductive health services during the pandemic.



21.01.2022 Australia is pleased to help more than 23,000 households in Balochistan increase their crop yield, income and nutritional intake, in partnership with Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Spanning from 2012 to 2020, the Australian Balochistan Agribusiness Business program was recently handed over to local communities and authorities. We look forward to the program’s strong legacy continuing, ensuring Balochistan’s agriculture and livestock markets are inclusive for all.

20.01.2022 Australia's High Commissioner Dr Geoffrey Shaw today opened an interesting discussion with law and health experts on the legal rights of people living with mental illnesses in Pakistan. Australia is working with the Justice Project Pakistan to help protect the human rights of this vulnerable group through training and capacity building of lawyers, judges and prison officials.

05.01.2022 Our High Commissioner savouring the Pakistani ‘aam’ for breakfast - everyone's favourite summer fruit that’s an intrinsic part of Pakistani art, culture and literature. Pakistan is the world’s sixth largest exporter of mangoes, with its delicious and juicy mangoes becoming increasingly popular in Australia.

05.01.2022 Australia was humbled to support a fistula repair and surgical training camp at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences to help patients from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad. Nearly 5,000 women in Pakistan suffer from injuries caused by childbirth, such as obstetric fistula every year. Our partnership with UNFPA Pakistan is helping vulnerable women access much needed maternal health care.

03.01.2022 We were honoured to be invited to tour the Pakistan Army Museum in Rawalpindi. A terrific museum with well-designed exhibits. It was a great opportunity to learn about Pakistan's proud military history. Our two countries have a shared military history beginning with the landing of Pakistan troops at Gallipoli in support of Australian troops, through to today working side by side maintaining peace in UN missions around the world.
