25.01.2022 The Australian Air League SA Wing held their International Space Station radio hook-up last night at SAAM. State OC Group Cdr Martin Ball, Patron Vice Admiral K...evin Scarce and Mrs Scarce and a great turnout from all three SA squadrons and their family members attended. The squadrons are Port Adelaide (OC Michael Sleightholm), Parafield (OC Mark Lelliott) and Gawler (OC Andrew Jacks). Amateur radio operators Ben Broadbent and Charlie McEachern operated the equipment and made sure everything went smoothly as the cadets asked question of US astronaut Drew Morgan. And all enjoyed a fantastic spread afterwards! See more
25.01.2022 Look at this technology. Air Force way to go.
23.01.2022 Last Monday Port Adelaide Squadron was fortunate to visit the Aliancce Airlines base in Adelaide Airport as apart of their Flight Attendant badge studies. The cadets had the opportunity to operate training equipment such as fire extinguishers, dummy flares, fire hoods, life raft and the cadets favourite... the inflatable life jacket. Thank you too Alliance Airlines for your continued support of the Australian Air League and for giving the time to show us your equipment.
22.01.2022 SA Cadets - take a look at these activities.
21.01.2022 Check out the great artwork from our Junior Cadets!
21.01.2022 Last week South Australia Group had the privilege to speak live with astronauts aboard the International Space Station, better known as the ISS. Whilst Air League events and squadrons nights are on hold during the COVID-19 virus pandemic, the Air League is working on an alternative to deliver certain activities.
19.01.2022 Another great photo of SAG at the Air Show yesterday. In front then Alliance aircraft dedicated to the Crew of the Vimy Bomber and 100th anniversary of the first flight to Australia.

16.01.2022 This is very clever
16.01.2022 For over 80 years, cadets of the Australian Air League have taken part and assisted in ANZAC Day Dawn Services and Parades across Australia. The Australian Air ...League was founded in 1934 by Mr George Robey who was himself one of the original ANZACs, and a veteran of the Gallipoli Landing. Whilst the current COVID situation prevents Australians gathering together, we are proud to take part in Light Up the Dawn this coming ANZAC Day. Our thanks go to the Cadets and Officers, and their parents who helped to make this video possible.
15.01.2022 Awesome result.
15.01.2022 Happy Birthday RAAF. This is a great video.
14.01.2022 In Woomera for work and could not resist taking a "selfie" in front of "Shayn from Gawler Sqn" favorite aircraft - The Canberra. Rest of the rocket park is undergoing bit of a repaint and looking good! Missing Squadron nights, hopefully will not be too long. Stay safe. Cheers, Mark
13.01.2022 Great ready for Air Force’s 100th birthday in 2021
12.01.2022 Watch this cadets.
12.01.2022 Some photos from a previous trip to Woomera. A favorite is the Woomera Cinema. Photo does not do the mosaic justice. The symbol of a human reaching for the stars done in shiny tessellated tiles is really something to behold. Tucked out back are the old carbon arc projectors and costumes from theatre shows last century. Lots to see - a fascinating part of our history.
10.01.2022 Recently Port Adelaide Squadrons Sgt Preethika Ganiger was awarded AAL Female Cadet of the Year award. Last night at Port Adelaides Squadron Night, Sgt Ganiger was presented with her Gold COTY Badge by Lieutenant Commissioner Martin Ball in the South Australian Air Museum. Preethika is an excellent role model for the cadets at Port Adelaide and hopes to pursue a career in the Air Force as an Aeronautical Engineer. Preethika is also learning to fly at the moment. Well done Preethika.
09.01.2022 Have fun tomorrow AAL if you are attending the air show.
08.01.2022 This will be very interesting.
08.01.2022 Dear South Australia Group. Please see this important announcement from the Chief Commissioner regarding postponement of the Review. Regards Martin.
07.01.2022 Hey Cadets. Some activities for you.
07.01.2022 Squadron Meetings to Commence In TERM 3. Dear South Australia Group, With the relaxations of COVID-19 restrictions here in South Australia we are now able to plan future Squadron Meetings. ... The Council of South Australia Group has decided that Squadrons will return at the beginning of Term 3, the week of 20 Jul 20. This is fantastic news. Each Squadron OC has some actions to complete and there will be some new procedures at each of our venues to reflect the restrictions that are still in place such as social distancing and the maximum number of people in rooms. Each Squadron is different and OCs will write to you via email with further details. Thank you to everyone for their patience and participation in the Virtual Squadron meeting which will continue to the end of Term 2. I look forward to seeing you in Term 3. Regards Martin Ball LtComr
07.01.2022 Fingers crossed for a successful International Space Station (ISS) hook up with Astronaut Drew Morgan this evening. Cadets will be able to ask him question while he is above the States. Comms will be established around 1925 hours.
06.01.2022 On an absolutely perfect flying day, 27 cadets from South Australia Group were airborne over the Barossa Valley today with Barossa Helicopters. A fantastic day enjoyed by all. Many thanks to Barossa Helicopters - this is our 7th year in row with this flying day.
06.01.2022 SAG 2020 Flying Scholarship Program Open. Since 2014 SAG has awarded approximately 12 flying scholarships to cadets aged 15 years or older on 1 Jun 20. Each scholarship is valued at $1000 and Council expect a further two scholarships to be awarded this year. The application process is detailed in a memo that has been provided to your OCs.... Closing Date for applications is 28 Aug 20. Speak to your OC if you are interested and he will provide you with details on the application process. With Squadron Meetings returning at this stage in the week of 20 Jul 20, you will have time to talk to your officers before the closing date. This is a fantastic opportunity for our older cadets. Good luck if you decide to apply. Regards Martin Ball LtComr Exec Gp Comr SAG AAL
05.01.2022 A number of our cadets have been successful applying for RAAus Scholarship in the past. South Australia Group has a scholarship scheme and you can get more information from your OC. This doesnt mean you cant apply to RAAus for a scholarship as well. I encourage our older cadets to look into this. Regards LtComr Ball
05.01.2022 The RAAF going a great job to assist the community.
05.01.2022 Fabulous looking aircraft. We may start to see these in the skies above Edinburgh.

04.01.2022 South Australia Group holding Virtual Squadrons All three SA Squadrons are holding Virtual Squadron meetings now. A big thanks to the organisers and to the cadets who are participating. The aim of these meetings is to stay in touch with each other during the period where we cannot meet as we once did. We dont know when Real Squadron Meetings will be able to be resumed. We will resume ASAP in accordance with government guidelines and Air League policy. ... Regards Martin
