12.01.2022 Hey everyone! Don't forget that the AAA social drinks are held on the third Friday of the month. For March, that is Friday 20th. The event starts at 6pm at the KG Bar, Mercure Pullman Hotel, Cnr Ann and Roma Streets (right across the road from City Hall).

11.01.2022 Hi everyone, the AAA is happy to announce that we will be having Friday night drinks on October 30 at the Fox Hotel. Please see the attached flyer for further details. It will be important to RSVP for this event, so please do so by emailing [email protected]. This will be the first drinks night that we've had for some time, so it would be great to see some of our wonderful AAA members and friends come along and enjoy a social evening.

08.01.2022 The Australian American Association Brisbane is a non-profit organization which holds events, functions, holidays, and commemorations celebrated by Australia and the USA. We are not a specific US expatriate organization, but rather our members are Australians, USA Citizens, and other nationalities. We foster the reality that the Australian-USA relationship is linked across both sides of the Pacific Ocean with common heritage and many ties. As our foundation is the Australi...an-USA relationship formed during World War II, our largest event is the Commemoration of Battle of the Coral Sea held each May. Today, the AAA would have held this important event at Newstead, however due to the COVID-19 restrictions in place this could not go ahead as planned Nevertheless, the AAA remembered the significance of the Battle of the Coral Sea, and the efforts of both of our country's service men and women by the laying of wreaths and the saying of prayers at the memorial on Friday 8 May.

05.01.2022 The AAA President and a number of other committee members attended a small ceremony at the Shrine of Remembrance in Brisbane yesterday to commemorate the end of World War II and the Victory in the Pacific. Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner and Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk both attended.

05.01.2022 Hi friends! I am working on a new cooking show for Channel 7 and my bosses have just announced that they would like to find an American team to represent the US...A and American Cuisine. Any American's with PR here who would want to team up with a friend/family member to compete in a cooking competition? We are currently casting for a brand-new cooking show, focused on international flavours. The series "Plate of Origin" will be Sydney based, Teams of 2 self-taught home cooks. Each team representing a country and competing cooking cuisine from that country - compete to win a HUGE amount of money. I'm from Minnesota and I know a lot of other states have delicious dishes, but my thoughts initially go to Southern cuisine - Louisiana Creole, Cajun, Jambalaya, Texas smoked brisket, Mississippi biscuits... So many people say "what even is 'American Food' burgers? (well yeah but we can do so much more, someone show them!) note: Applicants must be Australian citizens or have PR and cannot be a trained Chef (we are home cook friendly.) Tag a friend who should get in touch. or DM me if you are interested in learning more!

03.01.2022 Our Australia Day event was awesome, and we were very pleased to meet some new people, Suzarne and Jennie who came along to their first AAA event. We hope to see more of them and keep growing our community. A very big thank you to Teresa for her yummy cooking and her amazing organisational skills and also to Mike for all his hard work to make the day such a success.

01.01.2022 Hi all, AAA is playing it safe due to Covid-19 and cancelling the monthly drinks that were planned for this evening. We'll see how we go next month. We wish you all the best and hope that you stay safe and healthy during the current situation.
