25.01.2022 Here are some of the records currently held & some other interesting write ups.
25.01.2022 Hi All, An update on the proposed Social Ski weekend at the Glenbawn Ski Club on the Weekend of 28 - 29 April. We have had a positive response from a number of ...people and it looks like there is enough interest to go ahead. So this mail is to confirm it will be happening. To have the best chance of getting good water it would be best if anyone that is planning on camping tries to be there on the Friday night so we can start on Saturday morning if the conditions are good. We are aiming to have a range of events for skiers of all levels ranging from barefoot endurance events to kneeboard / tube relays. The actual events will be up for a vote on the Friday night around the fire, so come up with an idea and pitch it to the group. We will prioritize the events and run them based on conditions and time. Most events are likely to be individual, but there will be some team events e.g. the barefoot marathon (conditions allowing) if you are a barefooter and are keen for a run in the marathon but are not part of an existing team, don't worry we will get you into a boat. Depending on the number of people we will divide the whole group up into 2 or more teams. If you enter an event you will get a point for your team, with additional points for place winners. We will need a captain for each team, who will be in charge of motivating his troops to go in the events and try to get some points. The allocations of teams will depend on the numbers and the events that get voted in, we can work it out on the day. I can't promise anything for the winning team apart from a couple of fun days and the glory of being champions. It would be great to get as many club members as possible to turn up, but also please forward this to any friends that you would like to invite. The section below is some information for anyone not familiar with Lake Glenbawn. If you are turning up on Friday evening after about 5pm you will need to ring up and book a camping site. Call 6543 7193 during business hours and they will book you in and give you an access code to get in the gate. The ski club has a clubhouse but you are not allowed to stay inside the building so bring a tent or a swag. The clubhouse has cooking facilities, toaster, jug and a large BBQ that you are welcome to use, just bring what ever else you will need. There is a porta-loo at the clubhouse and there are shower blocks not far away. For any further information please give myself or Stuart Hamling a call, or email. Regards Tim Gardiner. 0439 200 485 Stuart Hamling 0417 658 266

07.01.2022 Hi guys! Im sure most of you have heard about the talk of putting restrictions on boating along the Williams River at Seaham/Raymond Terrace to try to reduce the ongoing erosion along the riverbank. We are going to do our best to keep our sport alive in this area and we need your help! The deadline is this Sunday 20th Nov for us to have our say! Any letter, short & sweet or 6 pages long is going to help! I know it may not massively affect all of you but once they start putting restrictions on a few rivers its only going to start spreading to more! Ive attached the link below and your help would be greatly appreciated :) www.rms.nsw.gov.au/projects/hunter/williams-river/index.html
