21.01.2022 US TOUR 2016 - TRY OUTS We have been running US basketball tours and programs for over 17 years. This is a professional tour to maximise player development. For anyone interested in joining our 2016 US tour the information and try out details are available now. Tour suitable to boys/young men between the ages of 15 to 22 years of ages.... We have had interest in a girls JV team for advanced 14 up to 16 year olds. Girls who are interested in joining the tour should attend the try out or contact us. Nunawading Stadium June 26th 10:30am to 12:30pm Sydney - Ryde Nth YMCA July 2nd 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Cost - $50 to cover court hire, coaches and travel. Session will be conducted as a US College prep training session. Drills will be designed to prepare you for US basketball. College handbook will be provided to all who attend. Scimmages will be held to evaluate team and game play. Registrations in advance are essential. If you cant attend these dates please contact us for other trial options. 02.01.2022 FORMER BOOMERS CAPTAIN JASON SMITH TO COACH VARSITY TOUR TEAM We are very pleased to announce that NBL legend and former Boomers Captain Jason Smith will again join our coaching staff on our US basketball tour this year.... Jason coached with us 3 years ago and was extremely popular with our players and did an outstanding job. Jason Captained Australia and represented Australia at 2 Olympics and World Championships. Jason won 3 NBL titles and is regarded as one of the best players of his era. He has wealth of knowledge and has a great positive coaching style. Jason replaces one of our long time regular coaches Rob Grieve who has coached with us on our tours for many years. Rob is a fantastic coach who took our varsity team to winning a major high school tournament in Texas last year. We would like to thank Rob for his great work with our programs and wish him well his his new role in coaching. We cannot announce his new position just yet until details are finalised but we are certain you will hear more of Rob in the future.
