14.01.2022 A question from Judith Trimboli I have a few lines of an old poem stuck in my head and can't seemed to find the poem. the lines are "Nobs from Potts Point and St. Kilda will joke about matilda and tell you ain't it nicer in the train. but they have friends and they have money and they think it's kind of funny to be tramping to Wilcannia in the rain. ". I wonder if any of your members may know it. thank you.

01.01.2022 BOOK LAUNCHED -- GABRIEL'S CHILD by Brenda-Joy Pritchard Gabriel’s Child is a 500 page book about the life of our son Anthony Jude Pritchard. Read more... Gabriel's Child is a story of courage, faith, love and spiritual development told through the diverse trials and triumphs of Anthony's time on earth. As such, it is a ‘time capsule’ of life in Australia in the 1970’s/1980’s before the accelerated developments and the advent of the communication revolution of th...e early twenty-first century. It portrays aspects of that era through travelling and through city, island and country living and it brings to life a wide range of human, health, sociological and family experiences and pertinent issues. Anthony’s heart-rending trials included being orphaned from birth (Hal and I adopted him when he was 10) and suffering from Cystic Fibrosis. Of the genetically transmitted diseases, Cystic Fibrosis is the leading cause of physical disability and death in children. Any sufferer of Cystic Fibrosis faces a lifelong battle. Anthony’s triumphs demonstrate how through his rich inner life, his contact with his spiritual guide and his near-death experiences he was imbued with the strength of character and unconquerable spirit that enabled him to overcome adversity and to be an example and inspiration to all who knew him. Gabriel’s Child is a testament to the power of the human spirit and to the wonders of the creative force that underlies all life. .......................................................................................................................................................... GABRIEL'S CHILD is available through HALENDA as a printed book for $25 including postage. HOWEVER, if you would like to have a PDF file of the entire book sent FREE to your inbox please email me at (not on messenger) and this will be done. #booklaunch #universityofqueenslandpress, #coochiemudloisland #australiangoldgemandtreasure, #cysticfibrosis, #cysticfibrosisassociation #australianbookreview, #smallpressnetwork, #rchschool #charterstowerslibrary #victoriapointlibrary Townsville Bush Poetry Mates Inc See more
