04.01.2022 An Afternoon At the Proms The 2019 'An Afternoon At The Proms' with the Clarence Valley Orchestra & Chorus is on Sunday 27th October 2019 at 2:00pm. Under the Direction of Maestro Greg Butcher, this year features the Orchestra & Chorus playing 'Music From Around the World', including selections from Carl Off's Carmina Burana and Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story, to French and Italian sing-along Medley's with Lisa Butcher and the Chorus, to South American percussion feature...s and Finlandia by Sibelius, plus much more, including our old Proms favourites! Our guest artist this year is TV actor and comedian Mr Mark Mitchell, from the TV shows 'The Comedy Company' (as Con The Fruiterer and 'Around The Twist' as Mr Gribble) to name a few. Tickets are on sale now for one concert only at www.saraton.com Yes the Rotary Raffle is happening again this year at the Proms. If the Club could come up with some form of ‘international themed prizes’, to go with this year’s theme, ‘Music from Around the World’ would be great. e.g. a large hamper with continental/gourmet food stuffs, French Champagne??, presented with perhaps in some ‘old world map’ wrapping paper behind the cellophane etc looking the part. And perhaps the Rotarian ticket sellers dressing up with a German feathered hat or Mexican hat with poncho?? etc (to stand out also from the crowd).
