25.01.2022 Reminder---This Sunday at Noon Please tell your friends and family as this on this Sunday at Caboolture Shotgun Club. Only $30 for the test! Got no where to hunt???... Following from our presentation Two meetings ago Greg will be conducting a R Lic Course at the Caboolture Shot Gun Club on Sunday the 17 March starting at Noon. Cost is $30 Cash(No Eftpos) and will take about 2.5 hours. Please tell your hunting mates as it's a great idea and we will be doing R Lic based hunts in the future. Some info listed below. If you want to know more please post on here. Qualifying There are two requirements that must be met before you can apply for the R-licence. Applicants must: be a member of an Approved Hunting Organisation, and become accredited for one or more of the R-licence categories: Firearms Bows Dogs Blackpowder firearms. Approved Hunting Organisations Before qualifying for an R-licence, you must become a member of an Approved Hunting Organisation (AHO). You must also maintain your membership for your R-licence to remain valid. There are close to 200 AHOs registered in NSW. You will be asked to provide proof of your membership when you send in your application paperwork. Applying Once you have become a member of an AHO and completed the accreditation requirements you need to apply to the NSW Department of Primary Industries. Use the links at the top of the page to either apply online or submit an application form. Your application must contain: a completed and signed R-licence application form (PDF, 125.44 KB) a hunter accreditation form (given to you by your facilitator) proof of your membership of an AHO proof of senior or junior concession (if applicable) payment - credit card, cheque or money order. Applications not containing all the required information will be returned to the applicant. Your Hunter LEAP Trainer will provide you with the R-licence application form, along with your hunter accreditation form. Cost Licence term Full rate Concession rate 1 year $75 $50 2 years $145 $97 3 years $210 $140 4 years $270 $180 5 years $325 $217 A concession rate is available for minors (under 18 years) and pensioners (holding an appropriate card). 21.01.2022 Hi Members and Guests. Tomorrows meeting will include an update on the new rules and regs for hunting Ballandean Station for Fallow Does by Rob who is one of the new co-Coordinators. Greg from our branch will give a quick presentation on the Hunters Education Course up at Crows Nest on 9-11 Aug and I went to the last one and still learnt heaps so don't delay as only limited places avail Bluey has some exciting news as a Client has some Fallow Does that need to be culled @ ...$100 a head and the property is 4 hours away from Caboolture in QLD. There are some rules and he will go over them at the Meeting but it's a great opportunity to fill the freezer. This is not a hunt it's a cull. Want to know more talk to Bluey. A stir fry will be avail at $5 a plate and bring some coins to grab some tickets for our fantastic knife raffle to be drawn at our last meeting for the year. 21.01.2022 For those who want to hunt WaterFowl (Ducks etc). If you have any questions please post them up on the page. WATERFOWL IDENTIFICATION TEST BRISBANE... On 6 March 2019 at 6.30pm we have an officer from DPI NSW to come to Brisbane and conduct the Waterfowl Identification Test. The test will be held at the ADA building at Belmont, 292 Mount Petrie Road. Everyone who hunts or wants to hunt native game birds in NSW or Victoria needs to undertake and successfully pass a test about identifying different waterfowl species before they can take part in the program. The cost of the test is $40 and any member who wishes to attend must complete a registration document and return to DPI with payment prior to the night. Prior to sitting the test, it is VERY important that the WIT video is watched. This video is available on line. If you are unable to watch the video, which goes for approximately 1 hour prior to the night, you will not pass the test. This meeting we have Mark van den Boogaart and Tim will be doing a talk and presentation on Long Range Hunting Trips and also how to Photograph your Animals etc. Mark is a well traveled Hunter and has had many articles published in Magazines here and Overseas. There will not be any Food there this meeting but as always please buy a few drinks from the Bar to help su...pport the Caboolture Shotgun Club. Arrive around 630 for a 7Pm start. 16.01.2022 Hi Everyone. Seems that the Reds have started to roar so good luck to everybody. Some of the members including myself(Bluey) have been supporting a great local business who deal in all manner of things to do with butchery. Mandez Food Systems based at 4 Richards Road Narangba Ph 0738882655 are open till 3PM Monday to Fri. They have been generous with a few things we have used when you have had some of the meals we have cooked. The lovely Emma will direct your call to the righ...t person and I can't speak highly enough of the range and service. At some stage later this year we will be having an open day with them and the owner is an ex Kiwi who loves Venison. To give you an idea I went there Monday to get a Bone Saw and walked out with a box of Rubs and Stainless Hooks etc. Give em a call and they are great on price. We encourage all members and guests to bring friends and family along and learn as much as you can. 'Mark will be joining us to talk about a recent hunting trip to England where he managed to take two Muntjac Bucks, as well as get in some Pheasant and Partridge shooting as well'.Everyone is welcome so please come along and bring some friends as well.
