25.01.2022 Great Ormeau classes tonight - warm up was all about bodies in motion. High knees down the ladder, the back kick twirl over pads to encourage leg placement then replicated without the obstacle into a pad, the floor is lava and a new activity - visual tracking with balls. This was a brilliant activity for the kids to really focus on a target and work on their vertical kicks. In adults class the juniors had the opportunity to spar with Black Belts - if you have ever wante...d to ignite the spark in a coloured belt - you put them up against a black belt and tell them to go hard. Great to see our white belts giving them a run for their money - shout out to the Black Belts for their patience and guidance during this activity tonight. Awesome effort all round - super happy with everyones progress in preparation for grading. Thanks to Instructor and Assistants for your help again this week. Lastly big welcome to Ormeaus newest white belts - Talia, Koa, Isabella and Megan in the kids class and Ben and Jalyn in the adult class - you have fitted beautifully into our little family - we are so glad you have joined us and I cant wait to watch you all grow within the art. 15.01.2022 Super duper classes at Kimberley Park Dojang this afternoon. Kids were all keen to get started and went head first into their warm up! I am really pleased with the effort coming out of KP since we have been back at it. I was particularly impressed with the seniors sparring this afternoon - great job Tom, Thomas, Hamish, Emma, Mirabel, Mya, Kiara, Ava, Jake and Lukasz. You guys are so ready for grading. I introduced a new game today - Down the Rabbit Hole. Nothing quite like... lollipops as the prize to bring out that competitive spirit lol. Awesome effort today my warriors. See you next Monday! 13.01.2022 Happy Sunday ADTers! How gorgeous has the weather been this weekend. Great news - With the easing of covid-19 restrictions students are no longer required to book in through the Eventbrite ticketing system for the Bethania Dojang. Parents are also allowed back to watch their children train however signing in for contact tracing, sanitizing and temp checking are requirements for everyone entering the hall.... There is a maximum of 88 people in the hall at anyone time. Parents that are staying to watch their children will be asked to maintain social distancing and safe hygiene practices as per the Community Centre guidelines. See you in class. 13.01.2022 MICROFIBRE T'S AND SINGLETS Quick reminder, anyone ordering a microfibre t-shirt or singlet must hand order and payment to Instructors at any of our training centres on or before this Friday 28th August. These are a once off order and will not be ordered again until next year.... Great to see everyone getting back into class with a strong focus on training and fitness. 13.01.2022 Great class today in the heat St Joey’s kids. As mentioned in class today we’d like to give a shout out to the senior ranks. Seriously; these guys are amazing. Moving chairs, tying belts, taking temps, taking charge without being asked. They just step up and help. Awesome work.

12.01.2022 Its about that time of the week again - Ormeau classes! Lovely to see kids from Pimpama and Shailer Park dojangs coming down to train with the Ormeau kids. Brilliant effort all round. Particularly impressed with sparring efforts tonight from William, Talia, Isabella and Annika. Talia and Isabella are our littlest white belts but they have just blossomed into warriors in such a short time. ... Adults class was energetic and sweaty! Special mention of our Friday men - Instructor Dan, Rob Z, Karl, Paul, Keegan, Tim, Rob T and Ben - you guys bring knowledge and strength to the classes and I love how patient you are with the younger ones. You are inspiring these young minds - thank you. 09.01.2022 Today I want to recognize these amazing kids from Kimberley Park Dojang. On Friday one of the KP students asked if I would watch her receive a special award during a ceremony at school today when her Dad was unable to come. Of course I said yes! What an honor to be asked. Imagine my surprise when I saw FIVE of our amazing kids getting awards too! ... I am a firm believer that it takes a village to raise a child. As Instructors, its such a privilege to work with your children and we just love being a part of their lives. We get to see them grow within the art and hearing of their successes in other areas warms our hearts. Massive congratulations to Emma, Mya, Maddison, Hayden and Ella on their awards today. 03.01.2022 With the year coming to an end - our kids have lived through a pandemic, adjusted to online learning, readjusted back to school, smashed out assignments, class work, sports days, negotiated a new socially distanced world, crammed in final exams and assessments, and are now attending end of year activities. Amongst all of this, leadership roles for 2021 are beginning to be announced - and I am incredibly proud to announce that two of our amazing students have taken out top ho...nors. Congratulations to Jaya Torenbeek for her promotion to School Captain for 2021 and Eva Zajac for her promotion to Band Captain for 2021. We are a part of your child’s village - we love to celebrate their successes with them. We are so very proud of you both girls. What an honour! Here’s to a wonderful new year full of exciting new opportunities and challenges as you tackle your new roles like black belts. Big love to you both - keep reaching for the stars girls.
