25.01.2022 Lodge guests through the month of June have been enjoying some fine winter flyfishing in the tropics. The constant cool waters have kept the barramundi quite, but finding warm sunny areas has made for great sight fishing to sunning fish ,The flats have seen lots of big queenfish ,the permit fishing has been as good as it gets. The lodge is also pleased to have former Exmouth guide Allan Donald guiding with the lodge, at times for the rest of the year and into the future! We have some great tides available for the winter months in 2019 if your looking to escape the winter blues , we can accommodate 6 anglers,
24.01.2022 September and October has seen some wonderful flyfishing for both our domestic and international anglers. When the sun has been out the sand flats have been alive with a variety of species giant herring, blue salmon and the usual suspects of medium size Gts and queenfish. The permit fishing has been constant, but once again lots of very unlucky moments with more fish lost than coming to the boat. The Barramundi and Jack fishing has been superb with plenty of above sized fish around and willing to eat the fly!
21.01.2022 A nice contribution from Adam Kearns from Complete Angler Sydney.
21.01.2022 Take your pick!
20.01.2022 September was a busy month here at the lodge, with the great springtime tides, guests were on the water most days. The fishing has been quality with lots of variety on offer, plenty of jacks ,blue salmon in the creeks and some real quality barramundi around. The flats have been abundant with fish lots of small Gt's and Queenfish have kept guests entertained ,the has been some better sized tailing golden trevally showing up on the right tides.Permit have still been abundant in numbers, with plenty of heartbreaking moments for guests from dropped fish after long fights ,but thats fishing! October is upon us and we are looking forward to the next guests arriving shortly.
20.01.2022 The first half of the year started earlier than normal ,with some great weather through the month of February regular guests made last minute trips. March saw us travel to Colombia on a hosted trip for Payara and Peacock bass. April we were headed to India for another hosted trip for Golden Masheer and to Andaman Islands , though Covid put a stop to this. We had the odd local guests coming fishing with us, their support was appreciated during these unusual times, with the borders opening shortly we are looking forward to first groups joining us shortly!

07.01.2022 July saw some great winter weather and fishing for lodge guests. The mangrove flats had loads of mangrove jack up shallow and willing to eat , the Barramundi where present but fooling them to eat the fly was a bit more tricky. On the flats the big queenfish where present in numbers , with some great sight fishing for golden trevally. Permit fishing , well there was no shortage of shots for guests, though plenty of heartbreaking moments with rubbed leaders, pulled and crushed hooks , that’s permit fishing!
07.01.2022 November into early December was another solid period of flyfishing for lodge guests, around the mangroves there was plenty of solid jacks wanting to eat the fly and schools of laid up tarpon that made for some great visual sightfishing! All the usual suspects where on the sand flats queenfish and Gts , it took a while for them to show up but the golden trevally finally moved into the channel in good numbers in November, there was plenty of them that came to the boat. In was another solid month of permit fishing , with the water temperatures getting super hot , dawn patrol sessions on tailing fish was the game changer. The rains have started which will be great for the fishing as the new year starts.
05.01.2022 October was another successful month of flyfishing for guests, it was also great to see anglers from all over the globe heading to our waters with the main target being permit! We had great stretches good weather and plenty of time on the flats, their was no shortage of permit fishing, with a few anglers scoring their first. There was plenty of school sized Gts and golden trevally on the flats , with some mega queenfish roaming also , one angler scored a 115cm beast! The mangrove edges saw some great mangrove jack fishing , the barramundi where quite thin on numbers though the ones that found the fly where better than average size.Just off the beaches the masses of tuna schools kept anglers busy and reels screaming, overall a great month of flyfishing, thanks to Al Donald and Dan Harrison on their guiding over the month.
