05.01.2022 Friday 14 August 2020 extended submission date for 2020 Australian Geography Competition answer sheets Due to the disruptions in schools as a result of COVID-19, the Australian Geography Competition Committee have decided to extend the date for return of answer sheets to Friday 14 August 2020 to be eligible for prizes. We are aware that student numbers at schools have fallen and some state/territories and non-public schools are now on Term holidays. Some schools have advised ...that they will be sitting the Competition early in Term Two. If some of your students have already sat the Competition or can do so before the end of Term One, please return those answer sheets to the Competition office for processing as soon as possible. Question booklets in all schools are to be kept under teachers' control until further notice. This is to keep the questions confidential to allow those schools that have already closed an opportunity to sit the competition at a later date. Since the situation is evolving rapidly the Competition Committee will be reviewing matters regularly and will email further advice as required. Updates will also be posted to the competition Facebook page. Kind regards, Bernard Fitzpatrick AGC Coordinator

The Royal Geographical Society of Queensland (https://rgsq.org.au/) members volunteer their time to process the returned answer sheets. In one of the photos two are Society members opening and scanning the returned 2020 answer sheets and the other shows a large proportion of the 2020 answer sheets that have already been scanned.
