18.01.2022 Robs all Huon Pine and Tassie Blackwood guitar. (Video to come) Student Rob recently finished this very unique guitar at the Sydney school. Every piece of timber on this instrument is either Huon Pine or Tasmanian Blackwood that rob sourced from his timber collection in his back yard (some of it he dug out of the ground where it had been laying for some 20+ years). Finish is high gloss french polish.

13.01.2022 The end of an era.... After 14yrs of teaching and sharing his knowledge, our founder (Strato Anagnostis, pictured in the middle) retired from teaching weekly guitar making classes today. Strato has directly taught over 380 students from his workshop in Lake Macquarie NSW, and has helped establish 7 independently owned guitar making schools throughout the country. To all the AGMS students who havent learnt directly from Strato, chances are your teacher has - and there is a li...ttle bit of his method and build technique in every guitar made at all of our schools. On behalf of all the school owners, I would like to wish Strato all the best in retirement with plenty of time spent sailing, and soft(er) paraglider landings at Glenrock . - ST. If anyone has any photos of Strato or a guitar influenced by him please share in the comments.
11.01.2022 Just before Christmas and Mal has finished another Tele. This one will be going to a very lucky person!
10.01.2022 Matt Semmens came and lit up the Erina workshop today playing some of Martins guitars. Heres the first three vids.
10.01.2022 RIP Pedro Flanagan (20-6-20)... Those who have attended our Lake Macquarie workshop would know Pedro as the guitarist of the soundtrack to many hundreds of guitars that were being made there. While students were making there guitars Pedro would sit in the back of the workshop performing on his Flamenco guitar - often for a number of hours, and often in time with the beat of a handplane making shavings or the chatter of the bandsaw. Pedro also played an important role in our s...chools by helping setup the school network to expand Australia wide. Without you, our schools wouldnt be what they are today. Never short of a joke or good yarn. Loved by many. There will be a memorial for Pedro at the Commercial Hotel at Morpeth on Weds 1st July at 3pm.
07.01.2022 Mannys done some rather awesome fretboard inlays. Hand cut mother of pearl into a Mulga fretboard.

05.01.2022 Steve the owner of our Sydney school along with his offsider have been pretty busy while classes were on hold throughout January..... Regular classes start back up this week, if youd like to be a luthier just like Steve (or even just make a guitar as a fun project) why not get in touch?...

01.01.2022 The inside of student Johns guitar, or a trendy apartment???? This guitar is a spruce, and qld walnut concert classical with Toscano style fan bracing. The light you see is coming through the soundboard shows how translucent spruce can be at such thin dimensions.... *yes blatantly stolen from that meme which pops up every few years.
01.01.2022 Last little Christmas teaser, Mark has finished an L-00 and its ready for finishing but before that another student, Gary, has tattooed the top. No ink, just the dry tattoo gun. Mark wanted a scorpion, I think Gary delivered!
