23.01.2022 The WA State Jigsaw Puzzle Competition is fast approaching. Our official travel partner Mr Chocolate's Travel is giving the winning pair a $500 travel voucher as part of their first prize to go towards getting you to the National Competition to represent WA. 22.01.2022 Check out this kickstarter project from Marc in Switzerland. He has a jigsaw puzzle campaign live on Kickstarter, which features the beautiful wildlife collection drawn by the British puzzle artist John Francis (Eight 1000-piece jigsaw puzzles which form one large artwork together). These are puzzles he remembers from his childhood that he now wants to bring back. Im sure that some of you would love to add his jigsaw puzzles to your collection, or it may just bring back some memories from your own childhood. 21.01.2022 Get ready for another live puzzle race! AJPAs very own Kim Shu will be vsing her sister (also name Kim ) on 12th Saturday September @ 2pm EST. They will be competing next year at the World Jigsaw Puzzle Championship in Spain in Pairs and Individual division. Feel free to ask them any questions on the day in the comments - puzzle strategies and tips etc.... They may be alone, sick, financially unable to purchase puzzles online, or for whatever reason, in need of some jigsaw puzzles. These puzzles are not new, but will be delivered to their door free of charge courtesy of Cam at Get Puzzled. You may post your nomination in the comments or message the Association privately if you prefer. You may nominate yourself if you are genuinely in need. 10.01.2022 Congratulations to the 2020 SA State Jigsaw Puzzle Champions Sonja van Wegen and Vanessa Dorsharst They completed the 500piece puzzle in 1hr 14mins. Runners up were Korina Contreras & Sophia Rojas 1hr 30 mins 8 sec. First place received a $500 travel voucher from Mr Chocolate's Travel and their free place in the Nationals next year to represent South Australia. Team of 4 winners were Darryl, Margaret and Donna Peters and Vicki Simpson in a time of 1 hr 43 mins 47 sec. ...Runners up Joe & Summer Thomas and Sue Black in a time of 1 hr 56 mins 30 sec. 252piece Winners were The Parkers- Mango, Elani, Alice and Annabel in a time of 30 min 17 secs. Runners up Ellie Hargreaves, Eliza MacDonald-Hall, Jordan Higgins and Pip Hall in a time of 31min 52sec. 09.01.2022 The Australian Jigsaw Puzzle Association regrets to inform you that the National Jigsaw Puzzle Competition for 2020 is being cancelled due to the Covid-19 virus that has severely impacted Melbourne. The World Jigsaw Puzzle Championships in Spain have also been cancelled for 2020. The National Jigsaw Puzzle competition is rescheduled to next year on 20th November 2021 and will be held in Melbourne. Lock in this date! The good news is that members will have an opportunity to co...mpete in their State Jigsaw Puzzle Competition prior to the Nationals for a practice run and potentially win their free entry to the Nationals as part of the first prize. As a result, the Nationals will be bigger and better in 2021. 08.01.2022 We are going to try something new and exclusive to AJPA. The Travelling Puzzle. It will be donated and set on its way by Mr. Chocolate's Travel and sent to one lucky member to complete the puzzle, fill in the puzzle passport inside the box. Then they will send the travelling puzzle on to the next member, and we will get this little travelling puzzle making its way around the country and joining us all together in the most unique way. It will be interesting to see where it travels to as we watch the posts from those that get a visit from The Travelling Puzzle. 04.01.2022 Let the Travelling Puzzle Begin! The Travelling Puzzle is departing Melbourne today, 2nd September 2020 destined for Cairns, Queensland. Silke Anowsky will be the first port of call for Travelling Puzzle #1. Silke, we hope you enjoy your visitor and know that you are the start of a wonderful adventure for not only The Travelling Puzzle, but also for all Australian puzzlers. There are some simple rules: Travelling Puzzle must visit a different state from the one he was last in. Take a holiday snap with Travelling Puzzle and post it in our AJPA group. Travelling Puzzle has a travel journal inside that we encourage you to write in. It's up to you what you write, but some suggestions are: time to complete, who helped you with it, kind words to future recipients of The Travelling Puzzle, puzzle tips for less experienced puzzlers, a funny joke, your opinion of the brand or the image. Post Travelling Puzzle on to the next lucky destination doing your best to protect Travelling Puzzle as he doesn't have travel insurance. You will be notified of the next destination. One month is the time limit to complete the Travelling Puzzle. We understand that we all lose items when on holidays from time to time and we expect nothing less from our very own Travelling Puzzle. Please do your best to not lose any pieces but you won't be in trouble if you do. We will send Travelling Puzzle home from his holiday when he loses a predetermined number of pieces. We might retire him to a jigsaw gallery where he will be celebrated as Australia's first Travelling Puzzle and a positive reflection of 2020.
