20.01.2022 This week we have two dogs being placed with their deaf or hard of hearing recipient. The first is ALHD "Norm". Norm is an Australian Labradoodle who was bred ...by Alpen Ridge Australian Labradoodles. He was fostered through our puppy program and the hard work of his foster home gave him the solid foundation that he needed to become a Hearing Assistance Dog. We really appreciate the dedication of our foster carers!

08.01.2022 This week we have two dogs being placed with their deaf or hard of hearing owner. The first is ALHD "Wynne". Wynne is a Border Terrier from Cherishem Border Te...rriers and was fostered through our Puppy Program. He was sponsored through the puppy program by the Lions Club of Blackwood Inc and was named after one of their long serving members. A big thank you to his Foster Carer and their family for all of the time and efforts that they gave to give Wynne such a great start in his career as a Hearing Assistant Dog.

07.01.2022 Congratulations to ALHD "Moira" and her recipient for passing their sound assessment. Moira is now an officially accredited Hearing Assistance Dog. Like our las...t accreditation this was completed a little differently as she is based in VIC. This was conducted by our Program Director Darren over Zoom. She was assessed on her sounds with the help of the local Lions Club and performed all of her tasks to a high standard. The Lions Club of Koo Wee Rup & District Lions Club supported the placement throughout the follow up training period. We thank them for their dedication through which has been a difficult time with COVID restrictions. Moira is a Beagle x and was sourced from Dogs' Homes of Tasmania

05.01.2022 "It fills me with joy to see a Deaf person take a place they deserve in the music world!" partly funded by an Unearthed Level Up Grant, the beautiful new clip for Alter Boy's 'Bad Dream Break In' features performances from the band's four Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing members.

04.01.2022 The second ALHD being placed this week is "Charlie". He is a Tenterfield Terrier from Gumhaven Kennels. Charlie is the 622nd Hearing Assistance Dog to be plac...ed with a deaf or hard of hearing recipient. He has already brought a lot of happiness and security to his recipient in the few days since he has been with him. We wish them a long working life together!
