21.01.2022 We would like to congratulate Terry Nolan of Nolan Meats for being named #eatqld Champion by the Queensland Government. Minister for Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries Mark Furner said Mr Nolan had been chosen for his and his family’s more than 60 years of service to the beef industry and Gympie community. "I am one small part in our family business that was formed by my father Pat and late mother Marie and the load is now shared with my brothers Michael and Terr...y," Mr Nolan said. "Nolan Meats' fundamental principle is to take every opportunity to be innovative and to promote the benefits of Queensland grown beef and produce. "To be named an #eatqld champion fits perfectly with that principle, and I am humbled that our family business has received this recognition." Congratulations Terry! https://hubs.ly/H0vlybh0

07.01.2022 This Friday the NSW Department of Primary Industries will be holding a webinar to present the findings from their recent AMPC-funded review of total volatile basic nitrogen (TVB-N) and its application to determine whether meat is fresh or spoilt. Currently, the broad adoption of TVB-N to interpret meat freshness is somewhat restricted, due to limited or inconsistent knowledge pertaining to the association between TVB-N and other freshness parameters. There is a range of diff...erent recommendations for TVB-N to indicate meat freshness these are sometimes species specific and therefore cannot be applied to other meat types. The webinar will be presented by Dr Benjamin Holman and will take place at 12.00 pm AEST. You can register here: https://hubs.la/H0wMnj60
