21.01.2022 Hi everyone. The Minister for DESBIT (State Developement-not totally accurate but ok for this communication) is conducting Road Shows in most parts of Queensland. What this means is, you can go along, get a lots of information, ask her and othe government staff questions, about what's happening for and in business in Queensland.... We will be at the Hervey Bay (17th) and Maryborough (16th) at the Departments request to assist answer any questions you might have about the Mentoring For Growth program and our private services. 19.01.2022 Hi everyone. This is a friendly reminder to those people who have businesses or provide advice to them in terms of the Fair Work Act. Today l had to remind an employer and accountant of the need to be aware of Section 550 of the Fair Work Act.... Not sure what this is... check this out. https://www.fairwork.gov.au//inquiry-into-the-procur/legal In essence it means, any person (Employer, HR Managers, Accountants, Consultants, just to name a few) can be prosecuted if they are found to be aware and assisted in a contravention of the Fair Work Act. That means, if you give advice or any recommendations or simply participate in doing the wrong thing, you are personally liable. We have spent over 25 years working in this area of business and have a very complete understanding of the Fair Work Act. 17.01.2022 We aren't the biggest...l can't even suggest we are the best...but l can tell you what we are capable of. In recent times, including the last few days we have; # had a major banker write off $480,000 debt to a small business owner as they should never have been put in debt.... # had a major banker write down $1,000,00.00 off the debt of a small business operator as they should never have been put in debt. # had they ATO write off $70,000.00 tax debt. # helped submitt 9 grant applications with 3 approved so far and others to follow - this gives these small business money to work with us and pay some operational expenses so they can keep trading. # sucessfully worked to have a body corporate manager terminated from a complex because of service standards and breaches of the act. # successfully represented a number of business at Qcat and still more happening now. Lawyers are not permitted unless both parties agreed (often one won't) but as their business managers, we are permitted to assist at the hearings. Sometimes we work with an existing lawyer prior to the hearing-its about 'whatever it takes'. # successfully represented a number of people with wrongful dismissal cases under the Fair Work Act. # undertook a number of Human Resource (recruitment and termination) assignments in different parts of Queensland. # currently working with 18 different businesses (all in different industries-we don't need to be good at an industry or a trade, we are good at business) overcome trading difficulties in different parts of Australia (some we are working with remotely and on a digital platform). # currently working with a family enact a deceased estate will (involving a company and trust) and the unlawful and unprofessional actions of family members, Accountants and Lawyers. # and much more. All these works are always based on our simple philosophy that we have worked with for 20 years... 04.01.2022 Spending the next week in Inglewood, Texas and Goondiwindi with 3 other people doing Mentoring For Growth sessions to support our country cousins. Most people would know that l was borne in St George regional Queensland (thus my logo) and this is our way of helping regional Queensland. Each business, and there are about 20 of them, gets an 1.5 hour session to try and help resolve whatever challenges they may be facing. ... This is a free session as the Mentors do it for free and if the individual businesses want additional help past this, they can approach any of the Mentors. We have been doing this for 17 years on the M4G panel and love it. Meeting the large variety of business owners is fantastic and rewarding in itself. Thank you Goondiwindi Regional Council for supporting your region.

03.01.2022 I was told a very sad story about a realtor who went to replace the locks on the doors and take possession to a small food business only to find the owner living onsite as he couldn't afford to live anywhete else. When he approached the Realtor, she explained why they were there and the Owner became very distressed as the reality of the situation became obvious - he would soon be homeless. My sadness relates to the people who are dealing with these situations and l'm talking... about the aparant professionals who should have dealt with this in ways that included ensuring a person is not homeless. These Small Business Owners rely solely on the advice and support of their Accountants and don't understand what other options there are. Did you know that, even if you have to shut your doors and you owe money in your business and its a Company, you still have to pay someone to wind up the affairs of the business or face the consequences of your creditors doing it to you. I can say this, as a person who previously worked in the liquidation industry, and after 20 years as a business consultant, we have NEVER EVER left anyone homeless. Please...Please, if have a person you know who is having business difficulties call me on 0417 199 800...even if its just for a cuppa and a chat. Lets help everyone we can, regardless of money.
