24.01.2022 Versatility Awards for Ponies competing in certain Classes to show their Versatility, i.e. Halter, Trail, Hunter, Showmanship, Long-Reign and Harness at our Shows has become a hotly contested title and Angaston Feature Show was no exception with the Results being;- Versatility Pony of Show: Willow Springs Sensation (M Francis & D Lind): Runner-Up Versatility Pony of Show: Treeline Black Poppy (A Riethoven & S Murphy).
23.01.2022 Confirming to Members that in the interests of the health and safety of everyone concerned the 2020 Balaklava Show has been cancelled. AMPS SA believes in view of the uncertainty and the restrictions that are still in place due to COVID-19 that this is a responsible decision. Barb
21.01.2022 On behalf of the Members of AMPS I would like to wish JULIE FIEDLER all the very best in her retirement from Horse SA. Also want to shout out a HUGE THANKYOU to JULIE FIEDLER for all her tireless work over the last 20 years and all she has done for the wider equine community. Her commitment over the years and all she has done for Horse/Pony owners is to be commended and I don’t believe could ever be equalled. Few would realize how much she has been instrumental in achi...eving for the equine world and how many projects here in SA she has been involved in, always seeing them through to the end; many of which would not have happened if she had not been involved. She has also assisted and guided us through many crises in the equine world and from my personal experience back in about 2002 assisting us with equine insurance. I also believe her knowledge and with Horse SA the quick shut down of SA borders was what really saved SA Horse owners from being more affected by EI back in 2007. There are far too many achievements to list them all ! THANKYOU Julie for ALL you have done over the last 20 + years your hard work will be appreciated and enjoyed by Horse/Pony owners for many years to come. Enjoy your well-earned retirement, although I believe that is going to entail some more hard work and commitment which is par for the course with you ! 18.01.2022 WE WILL REMEMBER THEM ... LEST WE FORGET Anzac Day brings back different memories to us all our loved ones and others who served their Country and many who gave up their lives for us. Anzac Day this year was like no other we have experienced, but in a lot of ways it held more meaning and was remembered by more people, especially young people across the world with many magnificent tributes at dawn, people on their drive-ways and the playing of the Last Post seemed to have more meaning this year. Although we could not be with those who we hold near and dear, they are always in our thoughts and hearts and we hope that you are all taking care of yourselves and by continuing to staying apart we are working together in keeping everyone safe.
18.01.2022 ... Members are advised that in the interests of the health and safety of everyone concerned the 2020 Gawler Show has been cancelled. This is only the third time in the 164 years that the Gawler Show has been running that it has been cancelled and AMPS SA believe in view of the uncertainty and the restrictions in place due to COVID-19 that this is a responsible decision.

15.01.2022 ... Hope everyone is coping ok with the current restrictions that are in place and that they are staying home and staying safe while protecting themselves and others. As you are all aware we have had to put our Shows on hold for the time being and as it happened it would have been our Animal Expo Shows this weekend and it is the first cold and wet few days we have had this year so turned out for the best ! There is always some good to be found, sometimes just hard to find it ! Take Care, Stay Safe and remember to keep in touch with Family and Friends via all the means we have available to us now as we are so fortunate in that regard. Barb

10.01.2022 ... Adelaide Animal Expo postponed due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) ... Members are advised that due to the current situation and the direction from the Prime Minister for organizers to postpone gatherings of more than 500 people, that the Adelaide Animal Expo will be postponed until later in the year. As soon as I have further details regarding date etc, I will advise you. ... Members will also be advised with regards to our Foal / Young-Stock / Mature-Stock Show as soon as possible. 08.01.2022 ... GOOD LUCK to everyone competing in the AMPS SA Angaston Feature Show on Saturday 29 February, 2020. As pre-advertised our Classes will commence at 10-30am. This Show is being held in conjunction with the Angaston Ag Show, so if you are going to the Show you may like to watch the beautiful Miniature and Appendix Ponies competing in Halter Classes, followed by Performance Classes, Trail, Hunter, Long-Reign and Harness; so will be a great spectator Show and will show the versatility of the Miniature and Appendix Pony. 06.01.2022 ... WELCOME to the AMPS SA Showring at the Angaston Feature Show . BLAKE THOMAS and what a first Show it was for Blake ! Best presented ... Champion Jnr Handler Hand-led ridden Class Fancy Dress as Spider-Man considering it was his first ever Show and limited Pony handling he handled the Pony and the Classes like a veteran ! Then after a very tiring first Show doing all his Classes and also helping set up and pack up the jumps, cones and trott poles for the Performance Show ... it was time for a well earned "Spider-Man" nap !!! 02.01.2022 COVID-19 IMPORTANT UPDATE We hope Members are coping with the current restrictions that are in place due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and that they are practising s...afe distancing and staying safe while protecting themselves and others. AMPS National Committee of Management are aware of the extreme pressure and stress Members are under and will assist in any way that they can; as at times like this we all need to look out for each other. As Members would be aware we have had to put all Shows, promotional events, Meetings etc. on hold for the time being and while we have this downtime it’s a good opportunity to make sure all your Pony paperwork is up to date etc, especially as we have no idea how long we will have to comply with current restrictions. Therefore at the current time with self-distancing and movement restrictions that are still in place, if anyone has any Ponies that need measuring for upgrade or registration, please contact your State Delegate or the National Secretary, to discuss what you need to do. We want to assure Members that they will not be penalized for any late upgrades or registrations due to the current circumstances. Members are also advised that our Registry Office is open for business as usual and so if you have any paperwork that needs processing, you may send it to the office anytime. Due to travel restrictions, National Committee of Management will be holding their next National Committee Meeting via zoom on Saturday 23 May, 2020; therefore if there are any queries Members may have, or topics they would like discussed, please contact the National Secretary by 21 May, 2020 so that they can be included on the Agenda. National Committee of Management, which includes State Delegates, are keeping up to date with the easing of restrictions, which as you are aware are differing from State to State. Therefore State Delegates will keep Members up to date with the position in their State via State websites and/or State Facebook pages and/or via email communication and in addition to this, relevant updates will be posted on the National website. In the meantime, if you have any concerns or queries please contact your State Delegate or the National Secretary. Please take care, stay safe.
