25.01.2022 Earlier today (Sunday 18 October) the Premier of Victoria, Mr Dan Andrews, advised of the easing of some restrictions for Metropolitan Melbourne and Regional Vi...ctoria effective from 11.59pm tonight. The Premier also outlined further easing of restrictions effective 1 November 2020 and potential other restrictions being eased, subject to data triggers, from 25 October. We are currently digesting this information and what it means for the Victoria equestrian community. Tomorrow afternoon (Monday 19 October) Equestrian Victoria along with other State Sporting Organisations (SSO's) will participate in a sport specific COVID briefing with representatives of the Victorian Government, including the DHHS and SRV. This forum is facilitated by Vicsport and provides SSO's with the opportunity to clarify COVID Restrictions as they relate to sport. Once we have clarity on what the latest COVID Restrictions mean for equestrian sport we will communicate in collaboration with our colleagues at Pony Club Victoria, HRCAV, RDA Victoria - Riding for the Disabled Association of Victoria and the Victorian Polo Association.

24.01.2022 THE SHEPPARTON SHOW IS CANCELELD For the second year running, the committee of the Shepparton Agricultural Society have made the heart-breaking decision to the ...cancel the 2021 Shepparton Show. The committee been working tirelessly all year in its endeavour to present the Shepparton Show in October, but with the never-ending changes brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, it is in the best interest of the public to stop proceedings. The Covid-19 pandemic has created many challenges, but the duty of care to the public, workers and members outweighs everything. Several of the showground’s facilities are currently being used for testing clinics and vaccination clinics, and it is unknown when they will be available. These facilities are crucial in the running of the show, but more importantly, they provide a focus for the eradication of the virus for the community. The committee worked through many different scenarios in its attempt to provide an event for the community, including large submissions to comply with Covid safe procedures and marshal training, but it was deemed that the show could not go ahead. This is the third time in the show’s 145th year history that the show has been cancelled. In 2020 the Covid-19 pandemic forced the gates to stay closed, and during the Second World War 1944-1945 the showgrounds were used as a base for the RAAF. With many other regional shows cancelled, the Shepparton Show was going to be a highlight for the region, something for the community to look forward to, as it worked its way through an open/shut year with many businesses hit hard, and school children adapting to remote learning. However, as the crisis continues to evolve, all plans will now be held over to next year. The committee will continue to work towards a bumper show in 2022, with all the usual sections such as cattle, dogs, goats, cooking, arts and craft, and of course, side show alley and roving entertainment. 09.01.2022 Please Note October 1 2021 Bass Coast Summer Agricultural Show January 2022... Covid-19 Pandemic impact The committee members of the Wonthaggi and District AP&H Society Inc have decided the best course of action for the next show weekend on Saturday January 8 and Sunday January 9 2022 is an Exhibitor only Equestrian Show This would be : A Tier 3 Event including QR / manual sign in on Show day for those attending. No General public allowed. All attending as part of the exhibitors team would need to be named prior to the show preferably on the entry paperwork. All attending will need to QR or sign in manually at the entry gate All class entries and show gate entry would be pre-paid We have very reluctantly made the difficult decision to cancel the rest of the January 2022 show in the interests of public safety. We would like to acknowledge and thank the Bass Coast Shire, our sponsors, supporters, volunteers, and Committee members for their ongoing support. As we hoped for in 2022 we are still looking forward to a very welcome physical and economic recovery of our community and a Covid-19 free Show in January 2023. Stay safe and please put us on your calendar for January 14th and 15th 2023. Rosemary Loughnan Honorary Secretary

08.01.2022 Current COVIDSafe Settings for those living in Metro Melbourne, City of Ballarat, City of Greater Geelong, Surf Coast Shire and Mitchell Shire, and what the V...ictorian Roadmap means for equestrian coaches and students. Further to the information we shared with coaches yesterday, we continue to work closely with all relevant government bodies to support getting our coaches and students back to doing what they love. Under the current restrictions coaching is allowed in outdoor public facilities (where riding is permitted), noting: Students are governed by the exercise rules (exercise not community sports) which includes limits to the distance they can travel from home, the time they are allowed to exercise, the number permitted to particpate and application all of the usual social distancing and hygiene measures. Coaches are listed on the authorised worker list under personal trainers. Coaches must have an ABN, through which they can obtain an authorised worker permit to travel to coach (EV will not be issuing workers permits). Whilst we know that equestrian coaching is often undertaken on private properties with vast open spaces, coaching on private property is unfortunately still not permitted. However, all indications point to this being revisited on the indicative date of 26 September, in accordance Victorian Government Roadmap (column 1). Dependent on vaccination rates reaching their targets, and providing no other major outbreaks occur, 26 September is earmarked for physical recreation and sport outdoor facilities to open for contactless recreation. We heard concerns from coaches yesterday seeking clarity around being classified as ‘authorised workers’, and so we had SRV confirm directly with us today that you are indeed classified as authorised workers under personal trainers. We know that this isn’t everything we’d all hoped for, but we continue to work hard to advocate on your behalf, and we encourage our community to stay as positive as possible, continue to reach out and support those around you and look ahead to brighter times. 06.01.2022 Umm still no showing

05.01.2022 CANCELLATION OF THE 2021 BENALLA SPRING SHOW Due to current regulations it is quite apparent that we will not be able to hold our planned Championship Dog Show ...and Horse Show on October 15-16 this year. This is very disappointing, to say the least, for us and for the competitors. We are looking for alternative dates to reschedule both competitions. In the meantime we plan to have a Virtual Spring Show that will give everyone the opportunity to be involved! More details in the next few days See more

04.01.2022 Sadly restrictions just make it too difficult to run this year. We look forward to presenting a fabulous Lilydale & Yarra Valley Show in November 2022
