24.01.2022 CANCELLATION of Winter Spectacular 2020 and 2 Lap Speed Trials Sadly we have to inform all model boaters the 2 Lap Speed Trials and Winter Spectacular 2020 planned for August have been CANCELLED. Our committee met last night and after a great deal of discussion about the Health implications (COVID-19) and the financial risks to both club and attendees, a vote was taken and the outcome was unanimous to cancel these events. 20.01.2022 Announcement! The AMPBA recently had an insurance claim made against a member for damage to a vehicle, sustained during a demonstration/static display. The committee is aware that demonstration/static displays have been run over the years to encourage the public to become involved in the hobby. As a result of this insurance claim, the AMPBA Executive felt it needed a record of when these events are held and that all safety precautions have been implemented. A Demonstration A...pproval form has been created that will need to be completed one month prior to any demonstration event(running or static). 16.01.2022 2021 NATIONALS. We have decided to postpone the 2020 Nationals till next year. The dates will be the 6-12 March 2021. We conducted 2 polls and a email out and over 70% of competitors were in favour. Will be a great way to kick the new year off. Hosting club, BMMC will post updates as we move on. 14.01.2022 Hello everybody. Just a quick update from the Committee. 1. Our new website should be up and running in the next 2-3 weeks. There will be a time the old site disappears as we launch the new one. Will keep you informed.... 2. Starting program is almost finished for testing. Just finishing the penalty points automation. Testing should start in the next 2 weeks and be available for Winter Spec. 3. Financials will be emailed out to club secretaries before end of next week. 4. The Nationals postponed till next year as per the post last week. Will have new info up over the weekend. 5. We have decided to help clubs running events with classes for Juniors by providing or subsidising trophies for them. More on this as events start happening. 6. Changes will be made to the rule book to take the new rules in that were voted on this year. 7. As we all start to return to our lakes, can all clubs please abide by the Covid-19 laws as needed. Late renewals between 01.10.20 - 30.6.2021 pay full fare. Your local affiliated club membership(s) must be concurrent for this to be in effect, and those renewals presented to AMPBA secretary for confirmation and inclusion .

06.01.2022 Today was a bit cold and overcast at the Green Pond! However we all enjoyed a great day of boating! :) Basha supplied the morning tea... Thanks Basha! :)... Wolf and Basha kept up their circuit challenge with both their Monos and Cats chasing each other around our course! Im not sure of the results... but if the smile on Bashas face says anything, I think that he is now in front! :) Stevo brought along his very fast Cat after another motor rebuild.. He had a spark plug disintegrate on wednesday... which took out his top end!! Murray did get his Twin Offshore wet today, however one of his carby linkages failed a put an end to his testing... Murray did some more fine tuning of his Cat and it is going even faster... AND, sitting perfectly on the water! Well done Murray! :) (See Video) I tried a few props on my Yellow Cat and found some handling improvements... Im a lot happier with this Cat now! More testing was done on my Offshore Mono and I have now fixed the chinwalking.... It is now circulating VERY fast and is easy to drive! :) (See video) Greg attended todays meeting with his awesome 67 Hydro! He found the correct heat range glow plugs and his 67 performed very well! 03.01.2022 After consultation with the BMMC we have moved the Nats back a month. The new dates are the 10 - 16 of April. Hope to see you all there. Entry forms will be out before xmas.

General Committee Frank Jones & Geoff Marshall As we move forward, we would like the clubs to be more informed of what the committee is doing. I will be emailing everybody more frequently with what is happening. In the next few months, we will be concentrating on the following matters. 1. To establish a new Web site and forum. 2. To have the starting program finished and in a functioning order. 3. To issue a current set of financials to the clubs and members. 4. To establish a new Facebook member only page to better inform all members of relevant information. 5. Sorting out the next Nationals. Regards Steve

Lock and load your calendars for the 20...20 Southern Mallee Stampede September 10-13 2020. All the usual fun and games.......Electric Night Race, Social Dinner, Campfires Thursday 10th Open Water Friday 11th 0800-1000 Open water Drivers meeting 1015 and racing to start at 1030. Saturday 12th Drivers meeting 0815 and Racing starting at 0830. Sunday 13th Drivers meeting 0815 and Racing starting at 0830 followed by Presentation. Lake is booked, entry form will be put out closer to the event. Happy Boating and hope to see you all there....
