Angela Owen Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen: good evening! Let me extend a warm welcome to all of you. Thank you for coming to celebrate the first anniversary of APA. Over the past one year, APA has become a force of raw power, a team that speaks out to mainstream society, an association that can't be ignored in the community. On behalf of APA, I would like to express my gratitude to all sectors of the community for their recognition and support. Today, however, the focus of the Conference is not on the anniversary of the APA, but on the concern of our country’s future and the discussion and exploration of truth. APA is a registered group of investors, business owners, entrepreneurs and property owners. It aims to create a strong alliance and synergy and to make a common voice that benefits all and protects the common interests of various proprietors. Furthermore, it promotes fair ecology of the industry, harmonious development and improvement of society. The current international and domestic situation is not optimal. There is a high degree of uncertainty in the international economy, conflicts between ideologies, terrorism all over the world, and some countries are loosing strength in Europe. Australia's domestic situation is also of concern, with zero economic inflation, a weaker Australian dollar and a slump in the industryThe rate of criminal offences has risen sharplyEspecially crime rate among teenagers. Just last month, in the area where we live, three teenage gangsters robbed and shot dead our Doctor Zeng Luping. We're outraged. While expressing our anger at the brutal actions of the gangstersWe protest against weak laws in Australia. At this moment, we must wake up, stand up, and unite together. Make the right choices about our country’s future and destiny, the community and the people. We should be in high vigilance against the ideology that runs counter to the good traditional civilization of mankind and the measures that cause social unrest to trigger social regression. The prosperity and strength of a country need to be achieved through private capital, property rights, entrepreneurship, free and open markets, effective competition mechanisms, a safe living and working environment, and sound systems and policies. We call on the government to give our vast number of proprietors loose investment and entrepreneurial scenarios. Inspire our entrepreneurial passion. Reduce our operating costs and tax burden. Reduce government intervention, respect market rules, Fair treatment with knowledge, skills and labor. At the meantime , the Government is called upon to reform the law, to impose tougher laws and penalties on criminals, to strengthen the fight against crime, and create a safe living and working environment for the people. Today we are very lucky to have federal senator Amanda Stoke, MP Peter Russo and Cr. Angela Owen to give keynote speeches and answer some of your questions.
