19.01.2022 It's lunar eclipse time! Look to the east during twilight this evening to see a red Moon rising. For observers in much of Australia, the Moon will rise already totally eclipsed. In Sydney for example, the Moon rises at 5:28pm with totality underway, ending at 6.25pm. For more details, see the April issue of Australian Sky & Telescope, onsale now in newsagents. 09.01.2022 If the weather is clear tonight, be sure to watch the Moon pass in front of Saturn. Visible throughout all of Australia except Tasmania, times vary depending on your location. In Sydney, the disappearance will take place at 9:22pm and the reappearance at 10:13pm. More details, including times for other cities, are in the August/September issue, onsale in newsagencies. It's the last lunar occultation of Saturn we'll see from Australia until 2019. Will you be watching it tonight?
