25.01.2022 Australian Songwriting Contest 2020 entrants who have been successfully shortlisted in this year’s lively competition, have now been notified by direct email. Congratulations to those who achieved this first step in the judging process. The quality has been high and participation outstanding, so shortlisting is a great achievement. The coveted Top 30 spots for each category will be posted on the ASA website in mid-November. For anyone who’s not already aware, the National S...ongwriting Awards (where the Top 10 will be announced and saluted on stage), have been postponed until a date early in 2021. We’re hoping for March, but have to wait to see what the COVID19 restrictions are doing by then. It would be great to have everyone from across the nation, in particular our poor Victorian members, able to fully participate in the show. So stay tuned! See more

09.01.2022 Hi Everyone, the judging process in this year's Australian Songwriting Contest is taking longer than usual due to the record number of entries received. The ASA Judges are currently busy working on the Category Top 30s lists, but we are still several weeks away from an announcement. We know that waiting for the results can be frustrating, but please bear with us while we finish the judging our Top 30s. The ASA Team.
08.01.2022 Hi Everyone, The 2020 Australian Songwriting Contest is now open for entries. Great fun, great prizes, and your chance to be named the 2020 APRA/ASA Songwriter of the Year. There are some big changes to the contest this year. For the first time in the its 40 year history, the Australian Songwriters Association has opened all 13 contest categories to international, as well as Australian songwriters. This is a great opportunity to be benchmarked against your international pee...rs. As a result, the former International Category has been removed, and in its place, a new category for Comedy/Novelty songs has been established. So, if you and your songs fit into Australia, Ballad, Comedy/Novelty, Contemporary Pop/Dance, Country, Folk/Acoustic, Instrumental, Lyrics, Open, Rock/Indie, Songs for Children; Spiritual or Youth, there’s a category for you. The IndieCentral.com ans SongCentral platforms are now open. To enter, simply go to http://www.indiecentral.com/asacontest/ or http://www.asa.songcentral.net.au Thanks, Alan.
