20.01.2022 Australian Target Systems are Installing the next generation of advanced training on the Enoggera 2 x 25m Pistol Ranges. Here is a short insight to the advanced capabilities that ATS will be providing to the Australian Defence Force.

19.01.2022 On Wednesday 11th December 2013 Australian Target Systems successfully conducted the Live Fire On Site Acceptance Test for the 100m No Danger Area Range in Gallipoli Barracks Enoggera. This event officially marked the successful hand over from ATS to the Client Defence, allowing the newly enhanced state of the art facility to begin use effective immediately. The installation, commission and operator system training took just three weeks to complete. The range facility is ...now the only range in Australian to have the Officer In Charge (OIC) Tablet, allowing Operators to conduct Marksman coaching, assessment and coordination of live fire programs at the touch of a finger. ATS work very close with Defence to ensure that all aspects of Marksman training are enhanced allowing the modern soldier to be given every chance to learn, enhance and continually improve their training techniques and skills objectively allowing them to be conditioned for the battle field.

18.01.2022 ATS have been carrying out the installation on the Greenbank MTR since April 28. During this short time we have managed to achieve an extensive amount of work including the installation of all targetry mechanisms, projectile location systems, moving target systems, installation of data cables to all mechanisms and many other critical tasks. Greenbank is a large and complex installation as it comprises of 6 target banks populated with 10 lanes of equipment spread 100m apart. I...t also has moving target systems at 100m, 200m and 600m to allow for extra capability for longer range shooting. As expected ATS have been working closely with Defence to provide the optimum outcome for their live fire training needs and allow the range to be used to it’s full capability as soon as possible. This is an exciting installation for ATS as when complete, will display some features never seen before on an MTR anywhere in the country. We have now complete the Installation phase and have turned our attention to the range commissioning and live fire testing phase to be conducted between 14th - 22nd July 2014. This will be directly followed with three days of ATS conducted operator level training. Updates during this period to follow. Regards Will Ellwood ATS Project Manager

06.01.2022 The Directors of ATS recently joined the members of Polytronic to celebrate the transfer of ownership from Henry Schweizer to Christoph Koch on 21 June 2013 in Muri, Switzerland. This significant occasion was combined with the annual shooting competition using the Swiss made assault rifle to engage targets at 300m with iron sights. It was extremely fitting that the competition winner was Henry Schweizer! Henry Schweizer in action to win the competition during the final shoot off stage. Mauro from ATS shooting under the watchful eye of Armin from Polytronic during the annual shooting competition held in Muri All members of ATS wish Christoph all the very best as the new owner of Polytronic and know that the same high standards, established under Henry, will be maintained well into the future.

05.01.2022 New Double Pop-Up Rotary Modules for Special Forces! These devices are double pop-up/rotary target mechanisms that permit realistic live fire training where fast discrimination between friend and foe is desired and is ideal for Close Quarter Battle (CQB) skill development. The target boards can be turned from friend to foe either in a standing position or horizontally when invisible for the shooter. Instead of an external contact hit sensor the rotary module records hits on t...he target automatically by a piezo-ceramic contact sensor built-in the module itself. The contact hit sensor provides optimum hit detection and efficiently filters out false strikes by debris, splinters, etc. A bank of TG82-70 BRP-TT Target Mechanisms can be directly controlled or pre-programmed and can be operated singly, in pre-selected groups or simultaneously with all other mechanisms using either the tablet controller or the Range Control System (RCS). Each shooter’s shot performance is recorded and exportable for individual records or after action review.

05.01.2022 ADF Capabilities To Be Enhanced By ATS Installation ATS are currently preparing to deliver Australia’s first 25m pistol ranges comprising of the new TG82.70 Twin Roatry Mechanisms at Enoggera. The capabilities of the two 25m Pistol Ranges will be significantly enhanced allowing the marksman to engage standard in-service pistol targets at a beginner level, all the way through to customised Live Fire Programs incorperating Friend/Foe practices.... The state of the art equipment is due to be installed on the two current 25m Pistol Ranges by ATS in the coming months. The installation will consist of Targetry Systems Installation, Commissioning, On Site Acceptance Test (OSAT) and Operator Level Training. ATS comprise the capability to customise and taylor Live Fire practices for the new TG82.70 Twin Rotary Mechanisms to suit the end user. They can be anything from level one beginner Friend/Foe up to Level 5 or higher. The new Target Systems also have the ability upon request to act as target changers allowing the user to place 4 in-service targets and change accordingly when required, saving the operators time in walking down range and changing in and out targets as shoots progress. ATS can provide a wide range of Friend/Foe art work for the targets as well as computer generating special requests to meet the end user’s requirements. These systems were displayed in full use during the ATS Demo shoot held at the Enoggera 25m ranges in December last year. Watch this space for Video footage from the day.
