21.01.2022 AUSTRALIANS IN THE PHILIPPINES If you have been ticketed by PAL for the special user-pays flights on Tuesday 26 May, here is a checklist to help you prepare for... departure: #1 Confirm all details on your passenger ticket are correct If not, you should call PAL on (+63 2) 8855 1000 directly to discuss any issue relating to your flight or registration. We are unable to make changes with PAL on your behalf. #2 Print your passenger ticket and letter from the Embassy In order to assist with movement through checkpoints, you should bring a printed version of your PAL ticket. Once ticketed, PAL will issue a Laissez Passer (letter). You will need to print and carry a hardcopy of your ticket and the laissez passer to get through any checkpoints an e-copy may not be enough. If you havent received your letter, please follow up with PAL directly on (+63 2) 8855 1000. #3 Confirm your transport to the airport You need to make arrangements for your transport to the airport that you will depart from. The Australian Embassy will continue to work with the relevant provincial and local authorities to assist with movements through the checkpoints. You may need to consider private car hire company. Your accommodation or your local Department of Tourism (DoT) may be able to help arrange an airport transfer. Please also refer to previous posts on our social media that included some information on transport options. Department of Tourism - Philippines can be contacted via Facebook Messenger or their Regional Offices: http://www.tourism.gov.ph/regional_offices.aspx #4 Obtain your medical clearance if needed Different Barangays and provinces have different requirements. We suggest you obtain a medical clearance for your flight from the municipal health offices. #5 Bring Personal Protective Equipment PAL is not exercising social distancing on the flight. You are required to supply your own mask to be worn during the flights. #6 If you need to book accommodation near the airport You may seek the assistance of your DoT for available accommodation options in your area. DoT can be contacted via Facebook Messenger or their Regional Offices. #7 For non-Australian passport holders, ensure you bring Australian visa documentation and exemptions to the airport Departing the Philippines for Filipinos If you are travelling on a Filipino passport, you need to ensure that the Philippines Bureau Immigration will allow you to depart the Philippines. Please check with Australian Department of Home Affairs (https://covid19.homeaffairs.gov.au/) for specific guidance. You should bring proof of your valid Australian visa and proof of your exemption (if required) issued by the Australian Department of Home Affairs. #8 Resolve your Philippine Visa Issues The Bureau of Immigration will be available at the terminal in Manila (NAIA) to resolve any visa issues.
