The series pays tribute to Indigenous Australians as the first astronomers who used the stars for navigation and calendars; for tens of thousands of years, the stars have worked as maps, weather predictors and timekeepers for First Nations peoples. For more information, read the Royal Australian Mint media release (https://www.ramint.gov.au//royal-australian-mint-looks-sta) as well as the National Indigenous Times’ article (https://nit.com.au/royal-australian-mint-launches-second-c/). There are many versions of this story that varies from all around Australia, one recount can be read on the Japingka website: https://japingkaaboriginalart.com//star-dreaming-seven-si/ #NAIDOC2020 #NAIDOCWeek #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe #NAIDOC

23.01.2022 " . . . ... . On #InternationalEqualPayDay, Australias candidate for the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), Natasha Stott Despoja AM, reminds us that We know gender inequality has an adverse impact on economic growth, so investing in womens economic empowerment is both the right and smart thing. Financial security, resilience and empowerment give women real opportunities and choices about their lives, and those of their families. When women do well, their families do well, and our economy and nations prosper. With gender inequalities exacerbated by COVID-19, we must remain steadfast in our commitment to equal pay, to avoid further backsliding on gender equality and womens economic empowerment. https://youtu.be/TNtAXdkKZ7w
